This page is a tribute to JOHNSONS, the greatest rock & roll fashion store ever, whose clothes were worn by the Stones, Bowie, The Who, The Pretenders, The Clash and Tom Waits to Iggy Pop, The Cramps, Lords Of The New Church, Generation X, Primal Scream, The Cult (Billy Duffy even worked at the shop at one time!), The Smiths (yes, Johnny Marr used to buy from us when he worked at X Clothes), Transvision Vamp (yup, bassist Dave worked for us as well before he went on to Bush), Paul Weller, Elvis Costello, George Michael, Rupert Everett and even Liza Minelli, Bing Crosby and Samantha Fox!
How 'bout that?!
OUR CLOTHES AND WHO WORE THEM
The list of those who shopped at Lloyd Johnson's shops is as long as your proverbial: from Jack Nicholson to Bob Geldof to Rod Stewart, from the Specials, the Stray Cats and the Sex Pistols to Madness, The Clash, Guns N'Roses and Fun Lovin' Criminals, from the good, the bad, the beautiful to the damned (and The Damned!) and the downright ugly.
These days Lloyd is as busy as ever consulting on the reinvention of the LaRocka! brand - check out www.myspace.com/larockalives to see how great it looks in the 21st Century.
We hope you enjoy this page. Please join our friends, post your memories and photos, leave messages for Lloyd and the gang and we'll regularly update you with fresh images, great archive shots and lots and lots of fun stuff.
Let's get together and celebrate the greatest rock&roll fashion label ever! Yeah yeah yeah!

This weekend THE LOOK travels to St Germans in Cornwall for the Port Eliot LitFest. If you're lucky enough to be attending get yer cat clothes on and come along to the Ha!Ha! Tent at 6pm for a celebration of 50s flash.
We'll have pots of Black & White to quiff up yours' and the kids' hair, t-shirts as prizes in a jiving contest (judged by fashion legends Anna Sui and Anita Pallenberg), a stomping DJ set AND a live performance by those gorgeous go-go girls of garage The Priscillas, while author Paul Gorman will read extracts from the book about his encounters with Elvis' tailor, the birth of Teddy Boy style and Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood's extraordinary shop Let It Rock in the Kings Road.
Well if you were there you'll know that the debut night of THE LOOK At Lost Society was an absolute wang dang doodle with the packed club - it was a total sell-out with a couple of hundred jumping up - begging for more come the witching hour, after a soulfully storming set from Kevin Rowland, who also wowed the audience with vocalising to the tunes he played. The evening was utterly enlivened by Pippa Brooks, whose DJing drove beyond eclectica into the sonic stratosphere, while her impassioned singing with All About Eve Babitiz - James, Darren, Sefton, you rule - enchanted all. And that suave maestro of the wheels of steel Max Karie upped the ante with pop, electronica, and, hell yes, the Rocky Horror OST and Jona Lewie's You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties. And why not? All in all you should have been there. And if you were - you had a great time, remember? If you weren't the next THE LOOK At Lost Society unleashes its awesome power from 8pm on Thursday July 5. We've got some exciting new acts, the best DJs and another very special surprise guest.
Bought these in 84 (I think) at the Kings Road branch - lovely crepe-y soles like the stuff they used to put on sandals...
As I recall Johnsons also did them in blue and black. Did they do white? Would've been great!
