Hello, my name's Joe, and I'm a husband, a dad, a pastor, and an author. Let me expand a bit on each of those.
Husband to Anita: Anita and I met in January of 1998 and, over the next couple of years became great friends. In February of 2000 I realized that I was going to marry her. Four months later I let her know this and she told me it was about time I figured it out. On June 2, 2001 were were married. It's been quite a trek sense then, but for some reason she sticks with me.
Father to Robbie: Robbie was born on September 15, 2006 and he is, quite simply, the coolest little man on the planet. From the day he arrived on, he's just rocked my world. Before having him, I couldn't imagine being a dad ... now I can't imagine not being one.
An LCMS Pastor
In June of 2002 I began studying at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Four years later, I was ordained as a pastor. However, I've never been one to do things the normal way, so I pastor a couple of alternative faith communities, the fshbwl, which is all online, and Genesis. Here's a video on the fshbwl:
Author of the elemental life: I love to write. From my personal blog to articles for the fshbwl, I'm always working on something. To date, the work I'm most proud of is my first book. Check out the video below and then link to the website for more info.
A Bit More: People often comment that I don't fit the typical pastor mold. I love my music loud, am a huge beer and single malt fan, love the occasional cigar, and generally enjoy time with friends and the excitement that life offers. This all flows from my belief that spirituality isn't lived out in the mystical but the day-to-day of life. This means that celebrating friends, food, family, and all that comes with it is God honoring. Part of this also means being involved in my community. Since I love Capitol Hill's urban eclectic soul and want to see it cultivated, I'm active with Neighbors on the Hill.
Who I'd like to meet: Outside of people who appreciate the great beer and single malt, I'd have to say others on a journey, or those who would like to be ... people wanting to celebrate life, seek a better tomorrow, find themselves ... those wanting to make a difference in this world and the next.

Thisgs are good. My little guy has 10 teeth, including 2 molars with one more trying to join the party. I think he is going to have a growth spurt, cuz the kid is eatig at least his body weight each day! You need to post new pictures of Robbie. I hope your travels were safe. TTYL
This is what typing looks like when I am sad. I was going to Myspace you but <sigh> I've been crazy busy. So to sum it up: I missed you on Sunday becasue I forgot I had a cheer competition that day! SUPER LAME! I would have skipped it, but it was our first one and I just had to be there. I am super sad I missed you, Neaters and Robbie. I hope your trip was nice, but it couldn't have been too nice since I wasn't part of it ;) Next time, huh?
