   About Jimmy Leslie
I'm a San Francisco-based musician and music journalist who spends most of life either playing guitar and singing, or sitting in front of a computer--sometimes all at once. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio loving Motown and classic rock, especially the San Francisco Sound. I moved out in 1998. There's a strong New Orleans connection here, and over the past decade I've gotten deeper and deeper into NOLA funk, making several sojourns to Jazz Fest. I'm a tried and true Libra, so I'm always trying to blend this and that to find some new balance. My new CD Surfin' the Swamp is a SF/NOLA hybrid with Pacific vibes and greasy grooves. Galactic's rhythm section of Stanton Moore and Robert Mercurio played drums and bass on the recordings. After Katrina, a bunch of NOLA musicians moved to SF. I hooked up the Honey Island Swamp Band through regular gigs at the Boom Boom Room, and I contributed to the CD. You can hear it at myspace.com/honeyislandswampband. Garland Paul & Sam Price played drums and bass on one Surfin the Swamp track, "She Belongs." Those guys are back in New Orleans now, and I play with them when I'm there. I'm now calling the network of players in SF and NOLA the Jimmy Leslie Connection. In addition to Garland and Sam, it includes: Bassists Jonathan Herrera (Bass Player Magazine), Mark Calderon (Zigaboo Modeliste), and Andrew "Panthelion" Currier (LunaGroove), drummers Shani (London Street), and Tony Dunn (Tree of Frogs), keyboardist Joel Nelson (Bo Diddley), and guitarist Sean Leahy (Four Year Bender). At long last, I'm doing the official release of Surfin' the Swamp to press and radio ect. After that, I'll flesh out the next batch of songs and record enough brand new ones to complete a second NOLA/SF hybrid with the working title "Bay to Bayou." In addition to my own project, I play gigs with Shana Morrison (Van's girl), LunaGroove (livetronica), and occasionally with the Honey Island Swamp Band. I write regularly for Guitar Player and Bass Player. Through playing and writing, I've connected with tons of musicians, from Perry Ferrell and Bob Weir, to the kids coming up through the School of Rock, to the many many music heads I meet everywhere from Jazz Fest to Burning Man. I'm looking forward to connecting with more good folks who share the same passion for music and good livin'!   I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Sure thing, man -
You can see a "big production" (sort of) video at www. myspace. com/scottishmcmillanmusic.
Hope you like! (No good video of the Right Rongly yet - but we might poke around for some good stuff from our show at The Rave in Milwaukee earlier this year.)

Rock on...

Hello!

Letting you know that the band I play keys and sing in will be performing a live gig on Saturday March 22nd, 2008 @ the Presidio Yacht Club in Sausalito.

We are Jhana, a four piece Psychedelic, Fusion, Jazz-Rock musical entity, consisted of; Steve Nicolini - Bass/Vocals, James Harman - Guitar, Rhyne Erde - Drums & Garret Leutbecher - Keys/Vocals.

We play original tunes, and would love to have you there to boogie down with us and groove!! Please, if you can make it, come on down.

There is no "door cover charge", but bring money to purchase drinks and food as there is a killer bar/restaurant.

If you have an further questions you can browse on over to our page and click the link for the gig, and sample our music while you're there.

Magilla
Live @ the Novato Teen Center
Friday, November 30th, 2007
(music starts about 8:30pm)

Cost: Not Sure (no more than $5?)

This is a city event, please no drugs/alcohol, violence, or negative energy.

http://www.myspace.com/aCommonVision

We will be performing beginning roughly @ 8:30pm. Doors open around 8pm. There is a cover charge, I am not sure as to the exact price, but I will assume no more than $5. This event is directed towards people 9th grade and up as attempt to provide the older population of our town with a positive place to be and spend time with others. Come on by and let us share our warm loving musical energy with you.

Daniel Beck and Josh Cobia will be performing as a DUO prior to our set, sometime around 10pm (or so).
That means, you'd better stick around until the end :)

The teen center now has an excellent dance floor, and it hasn't even been broken in yet..

hope you are ready to boogie, see ya'll down in the valley... ;)
