About me: Experimental Jetset is an Amsterdam graphic design unit founded in 1997 by Marieke Stolk, Erwin Brinkers and Danny van den Dungen.
Focusing on printed matter and installation work, Experimental Jetset have worked on projects for the Amsterdam Stedelijk Museum (SMCS), Purple Institute, Centre Pompidou, Colette, Dutch Post Group (TPG), Réunion des Musées Nationaux (RMN), Le Cent Quatre (104), De Theatercompagnie and t-shirt label 2K/Gingham.
Their work has been featured in group exhibitions such as Terminal Five (JFK Airport, New York, 2004) and The Free Library (Riviera Gallery, New York, 2004). Solo exhibitions have included Kelly 1:1 (Casco Projects, Utrecht, 2002) and Ten Years of Posters (Kemistry Gallery, London, 2006). In 2007, a large selection of work by Experimental Jetset has been acquired by the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), for inclusion in the MoMA permanent collection.
Since 2000, Experimental Jetset have been teaching at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (Amsterdam).
An interview from 2003 can be read here. A more recent interview can be read here. Pictures of a solo exhibition that took place in London last year can be seen here. (Click on the images to enlarge).
Here is a one-question interview, and here another recent interview. A somewhat less focused interview can be found here.
Images of the exhibition that we did last year in Melbourne (at The Narrows) can be seen here:
One of the many things we've been working on, the last couple of months, is the sign system and graphic identity of 104 (Le Cent Quatre), a French cultural institution that will open its doors in October 2008. A sneak preview of what we're working on can be seen here (PDF).
Two prehistoric Friendster accounts can be found here and here. Don't contact us through those accounts though; we haven't checked them since 2003.
POP MODEL Saturday May 3rd 9 pm – open end Live concert at 10.30 pm
A MARSKURZ’s Event IS THERE ART ON MARS?
POP MODEL decided to live and rehearse at MARS for a week. This week is being documented and culminates in a live performance on Saturday, the 3rd of May, including "Is There Art On Mars?”, a song created in situ.
POP MODEL's status as a band is atypical, mainly because the band members do not come from a musical background. The Band plays with pop archetypes, with an ingenuious twist. Free entrance
