Hi! Jennifer here. :) I'm really tryin' to make this music thing work for me. I just kinda figured out that it's what I just HAVE to do in this life to be content......... :)
So here's some more trivia about how my music is made, in case you're interested...
All the instruments you hear? I played them (unless specified otherwise in the song description!)... Mainly, I'm a singer/keyboardist and a person who likes to experiment creatively with production... and write songs that touch my life at the moment... and I'm one who hopes that I'm not the only one touched by the songs. :) I'm different. I'm weird. But I think it's all still relevant. Well, I can hope so, can't I?
I love to produce, but I'm not formally trained. My boyfriend and co-producer, Sandy, has taught me a lot and has helped me immensely with production of my latest songs. That's only one small thing of the many things I can thank him and love him for. Er.... Sorry for being mushy! I know - Ew! - Lovey dovey! Let me digress........ ;)
Where do I record? In the spare bedroom in my house! I don't pay for a studio (couldn't afford it -- not as often as I write/record!!) and have had pretty good luck making music without them! I have my own "studio." not sure it's impressive to the eyes, but I'm amazed and in love with it. :) I have a Kurzweil 88-weighted-key keyboard (SP88), and a fun Yamaha semi-pro keyboard PSR-270 and Sonar 7.0. Toss in other old & new hardware/software and I've got a really nice home studio that is such a prize, in my heart (and Sandy's! - Thanks, Love...).
Gigs? They're possible but rare at the moment (I'm a single mom!). But...... If you're in the NC area (at least), comment/message me with a place you think I could/should perform, and we'll see what can be worked out!!!
Ugh. I talk too much. Sorry. But I have soooo much more I could say....

I tend to be comfortable in the green-blue-purple area of the spectrum, occasionally crossing over into the red. Take that however you want to... ;)
----OFFICIAL BIO----
Jennifer was born with music in her blood. She knew from the moment she entered her Kindergarten music class that she and music had a relationship that was uncommon and unlike anything else she'd ever felt... or would ever feel.
She grew up with a musical mother and remembers going with her to her band practices and gigs: "It was always so exciting to see and hear my mother playing music. I would ache to be up on stage with her. I hoped one day that I'd be there singing my songs and delivering my own musical messages."
Writing and composing songs from age 8, Jennifer's style has grown with her through the tribulations and triumphs in her life. Though her style is hard to categorize (she calls it "Neo-Pop"), there are elements of Rock, Pop, R&B, and even at times Hip-Hop and Techno; these styles mesh to form an intricate set of sounds that is unique and somewhat addictive.
Whether it's a complex song production or just her and a piano/keyboard, Jennifer manages to convey emotion with soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics. "I'm inspired by almost anything. Sadness, happiness, it doesn't matter. If there's something I feel, I'll write about it. It's my outlet; it's the way I find myself."
Jennifer Spengler currently resides in NC and is actively pursuing a musical career. That's no easy task, and she's aware of that. "Hey, the hardships of this business can only create more great material!"
One thing's for sure: This girl's got talent!
