NEW ALBUM 'CHASING SHADOWS' NOW AVAILABLE FROM CDBABY:
(As mp3 download and/or CD)

Independent Review of Chasing Shadows by Chris & the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team

"Excellent, Relaxing Electronica/Ambient CD!"

“Chasing Shadows” is a somewhat aptly titled ambient/electronic chillout album from UK artist Jeff Woodall, his ninth release since 2002.

These fifteen compositions help set a calm, relaxed, introspective, and even meditative mood. Woodall’s experimental musical styling incorporates the piano, organ, electronic drums, and even the xylophone into his songs, but he relies heavily on the ambient sounds from his instrumental repertoire to create his music. “Chasing Shadows” is mostly an instrumental album with the occasional sound byte, and it is recorded crisply and near-flawlessly.
The opening track, “Shapeless,” introduces the album well as it begins with a repetitive guitar lick, then incorporates the organ, then completes the progression with an electronic drum beat dubbed over the other two. “My Isolation” follows with a heavier dependence on the ambient sound and reminds the listener of the beautiful Icelandic compositions of Sigur Ros.

Woodalls’s influences can also be found in “Erosion” and “Lunar Corona,” both of which sound like they are straight out of Radiohead’s “Kid A” or “Hail to the Thief.” Overall, “Chasing Shadows” is a pretty great album to be recommended to anyone looking for some new chillout electronica.

Jeff has recently collaborated with other artists namely Jonathan Atkinson who has an impressive CV of production music with many tracks used on TV channels throughout the world.

Jeff and Jonathan have recently produced an EP together is now available on iTunes

Jeff has also worked with Bryan El - a talented artist in Belgium, remixing one of his tracks 'Solaris' which you can hear on iTunes.

More recently Jeff has also worked with well known and respected Indian artist Abhijit Pohankar remixing an ambient chillout version of 'Babul Mora' which is also now available on iTunes.

"If you have time, please take a listen to some tracks and feel free to let me know your thoughts. It's greatly appreciated!"

"I think the great thing about music is, everyone is affected by it one way or another. So I hope to make a difference to someone's day.........in a positive way of course!! :o)"

Jeff's third album 'Fading Paradise' was selected as a chillout relaxation CD to accompany a bathroom gift pack in Hong Kong.

The Fifth Album 'Seventh Heaven' is currently published by 'Research music'(http://www.researchmusic.com) in the US.

Jeff's track - Your Love (The Dark) from the album 'Aftershock' Now available on iTunes received an excellent review in a UK publication: 'Future Music Magazine' in September 2005 praising the style and production quality of the song.

The majority of his music fits into the Chillout /TV accompaniment and incidental genre. Most tracks are Electronic/Downtempo/Chillout/Ambient and some are upbeat but all Jeff's music has an emotional uplifting feel.

He has been included on many internet radio stations including 'Sound Radius', 'Synth Heaven', Chill 'n' Groove', 'Groovera', 'Calmscape', 'Spirit Within', 'Mosaic', '1.fmchillout' and others throughout the world. Jef also features regularly on The Soupy Gato Show a podcast from the US and was recently added to 'Element 29' and Element 31 of 'Electronic Periodic' - a regular electronic music podcast which has been featured in Sound on Sound Magazine in October 2006.

The 'Electronic Periodic' podcast has had over 50,000 downloads in it's first six months and has featured in the top 50 downloads chart on itunes. (http://electronicperiodic.com) Jeff's track 'Distinction' is the first track on 'Element 31'
