| About Jasper and Carnelian |
after growing up in columbus, ohio and getting a degree in music business from valparaiso university in valparaiso, indiana, daniel entered the world of ministry. as a campus minister, youth pastor, and worship leader, he has focused on building community and leading people into the full life that jesus christ offers. he keeps himself busy though. his wife, julie, has just graduated from law school. and his sixteen-month old son, judah, is about to help daniel and julie welcome a little girl to the family in december. and in his spare time, daniel is working on a ma in theology from fuller. for a day job (that takes many nights and weekends) daniel is outreach and development manager for children's hopechest, linking congregations with the needs of orphaned children in eastern europe and africa. this is his passion and his calling. anything else is fed by and feeds his intense desire to see orphaned children and the poor receive the hope and help that will literally save their lives. these songs are inspired by our desperate posture in front of a gracious god. these songs are inspired by the compassion and justice that is found in our god.
