About Jason Reischel & The Strange Bedfellows
"Jason Reischel was humble before us, but clearly a gifted writer."

- Ben Krieger/ Jezebel Music

"I have good news and I have great news. The good news is that Jason Reischel is talented. Extremely so. Catchy, bluesy, heart-felt songs belted simply over a guitar, Jason Reischel is the perfect soundtrack for the late, lazy days of summer. Reischel's upbringing in the mountains of North Carolina shine through in his country influenced style. Music lovers everywhere should rejoice because of this promising individual and the music he brings into the world. And the great news? He is playing many shows all around the City in the coming weeks, so you will have many times go hear him, starting August 21 at the Bowery Ballroom. You are so lucky!"

- TheDeliMagazine.com

"...I listened to (Brown Bridge & Green Bridge) while slogging through a smelly, 100-degree New York City heat wave, and it was positively refreshing even through crappy speakers. "A Lullaby" and "Roses" set the folky tone with Reischel's gentle Paul Simonlike vocals and dexterous acoustic guitar work. The feel is Elliot Smith meets Tim Buckley, but there is also an outsider quality to the loose, almost sloppy way in which the instrumental tracks are put together...gloomier tracks like the haunting "Locked Door" and the spare "Where Are You Tonight?" are heirs to Townes Van Zandt's sad songs. Reischel's pretty melodies do not aim for hookiness, but the CD works as irony-free parlor music."

-Jon Soebel/ The Bagel & The Rat

Nov 21 2007 9:29 AM

It's so lovely to make your aquaintance Jason, your music is sublime. It's so rare to hear original material of this quality that is contemporary, if Jose Gonzalez and Willie Mason are touring the world with their tunes why on earth aren't you? Come to Scotland we would lap you up !!! You sound like James Taylor (a wee bit, but better) and write like classic Paul McCartney (the couch song) which is weird coz McCartney discovered Taylor......anyway best of luck and if you don't make it I'm giving up as there is no justice, tour soon I would love to support/meet you, all the best from the west coast of Scotland x
Molly
