Hey Jason! Very excited that there's a Vol. 2 of Bedtime w/the Beatles! We just put out a lullaby cd of our own (www.StardustLullaby.com), and it included vocal and instrumental versions - we referred to your cd as great instrumental versions, and how it could and should be done, since there are so many bad lullaby cd's out there. Thanks for the inspiration! We also got inspiration from those by Kenny Loggins and Joanie Bartels - they all helped us create something that went on to win 6 awards so far! Glad we were able to use your cd as one to emulate! Thanks!

Would love to work together some day.

Totally digging the bass playing on Beck's new record. Just curious about the bass were you playing. Was it that Gibson EB-2 that's pictured on the Grays record? It sounded beautiful!

Great news, my new band just got signed to to pretty cool record deal and has distribution in Japan!! The bad news is that we can't afford to tour there... which means we don't get to see the great AU... and, of course this is the whole reason I'm even playing drums in the first place... to get a paid trip to a Jason Falkner show!

Great show the other night at Spaceland. Awesome to see you with a full band, and your handling of the broken guitar problem was amusing. :-)

Jul 19 2008 7:46 AM

Here's a story... So, Jason Falkner was putting on an amazing show at Spaceland on Thursday. The fellas leave the stage after the "last song." I put ironic quotes there because, c'mon, anyone who has ever been alive and/or lived in the world and/or existed during the course of reality knows that at a rock show, there is going to be an encore or two. Predictable, maybe, but it's part of what we all love about live music. Anybody with half a brain knows it's coming. But you know who doesn't have half a brain? The 18 piece marching band that hijacked the venue within seconds of the band leaving the stage. A freak-show of horses-asses from Providence called What Cheer Brigade. I was dumbstruck. I mean, who DOES that?! Jason and the gang clearly weren't finished yet (and I can confidently say that since I was looking at the set list which had 3 encore songs listed), but these bags of douche with their wonky brass and drum tomfoolery obviously didn't want to risk loosing any of the crowd that came out to see the headlining act, so they jumped at the chance to start playing and entered via the crowd with loud and obnoxious unwelcome fanfare, leaving the audience, and Jason I'm sure, bewildered and and in a state of WTF-ness. And it's not like the sound man could pull the plug on these guys to stop them. Not only did Jason and the crowd get robbed of being able to finish the set the way it was intended, but the guys didn't even have a chance to break down their instruments before the invasion. It was an overwhelmingly lame way to end the evening. And the thing is, under other circumstances, this group may have been cool and fun and I could have dug them. But in that moment I was just like, "Wow, what a bunch of rude assholes from Rhode Island with funny outfits and no respect for other artists."
