    Jason's Interests
GeneralWhen it comes down to it, life's about going out to eat and telling funny stories. I like both.

But I also like family walks with the dog, my video iPod, fantasy football, the NY Giants, the NY Yankees, Duke Hoops, the NJ Nets (but only until they stop being good or move to Brooklyn), black raspberry ice cream, blueberries, Baja Fresh, Planet Smoothie, and the delicious smell of a specific flower prevalent on the UCLA campus (at least it was prevalent in the summer of 1999). Maybe someone could help me out with that.

MoviesFavorite Movie, 1985 (age 6): Follow That Bird

Favorite Movie, 1988 (age 9): Back to the Future

Favorite Movie, 1995 (age 16): I'd like to come up with an obscure film here. With subtitles, perhaps. But in reality, I'm not sure Back to the Future had yet been knocked off its perch. Rocky IV or Airplane! would probably rank pretty high.

Favorite Movie, 1999 (age 20): The Big Lebowski

Favorite Movie, 2002 (age 23): True Romance and The Royal Tenenbaums (tie)

Favorite Movie, Today (age 26): Let me get back to you on this. The answer will come much easier in retrospect.

TelevisionA lot of people say they hate TV. And some of them actually do.* But that's not me. I'm a shameless champion of television.

Here's a list of my all-time favorite shows:

West Wing, Sports Night, The Office (BBC version), Seinfeld, Cheers, The Office (American version), The Sopranos, The Simpsons, Curb Your Enthusiasm, American Idol, The Soup, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Married With Children, The Chris Matthews Show, Pardon The Interruption, Mike and the Mad Dog (simulcast on YES), and Saved by the Bell (but not The College Years, or the Indiana years, or the New Class, or California Dreams).

*For more on this phenomenon, read "Area Man Constantly Mentioning He Doesn't Own A Television" from The Onion.

BooksHolidays On Ice (Sedaris), A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius (Eggers), The Great Gatsby (Fitzgerald), About A Boy (Hornby), Harry Potter (Rowling), Purple Cow (Godin), Freakonomics (Levitt/Dubner), Sex Drugs & Cocoa Puffs (Klosterman), A Backstage History of Saturday Night Live (Weingrad/Hill), Why Business People Speak Like Idiots (Warshawsky/Fugere/Hardaway)
HeroesBen Franklin (coolest guy in American History)

Jason, I know that even as we look to the reunion on Nov. 24, I just would like to know your thoughts about Mr. Deamer.

Dec. 21 is going to have far more importance for both of us, since we both were at Valleyview when in 8th grade. When Mr. Deamer retires, we're seeing not just the retirement of a man or a principal, but the passage of time.

In some ways, on Dec. 21, we're going to bid a chapter in our lives farewell.

Hi Jason!!

I've been telling Mark to ask you for about a week now and I figured this could be a good way to contact you, since Mark probably forgot. HaHa..

My friend Ally is wondering if your company has an internship that she might be able to apply for. So, if you can, can you just drop me a message and let me know. Thanks

Starlyn

I worked in the dairy cooler. So I got to wear a sweatshirt and pretend not to work there. There was also a cute girl in Bakery who distracted me a lot. But hiding in the dairy cooler.. pretending I'm busy.. its awesome. You can be behind the scenes.

Looking at your companies listed.. has allowed me to make an admission. I worked one summer at a ShopRite.. a rival of the A&P in my area. ShopRite does it right!

Jason, Great to see that the family is doing well. We'll have to be exclusionary and get that lunch. I'll check the spelling (and meaning) of exclusionary and get back to you. Be well. Kiss the dog for me.
