   About Jason Bodlovich

A powerhouse of a musician. On drums and guitar he possesses the kind of technique, heart and soul that makes everyone in the audience go "Wow"."-Joe Satriani ....................................................Hello there and thanks for stopping by. I am from Huntington Beach, CA and now live in the North Bay Area. I play guitar, drums, bass and percussion. This page is set up for my electric guitar project-JBG. I also have jazzier projects where I play acoustic guitar and drums. Please go to my website for info on other current projects and collaborations...my cds are available there too. Thanks to all for the Norbay-North Bay Area Music Award honors in 2007! .....................................................JBG~ Jason Bodlovich has assembled a smoking crew to perform original groove-heavy instrumental music. Styles include funk, rock, blues, jazz and Latin. This group was formed to perform music from J’s recent recording, The Green Chair, in which J performed all instruments. The human element has led to a high energy live show which showcases tight arrangements and improvisation. JBG is the perfect catalyst for J’s melodic and fiery guitar expression. J’s guitar is backed by bass, drums, and/or keys, gtr, percussion. This group can range from a power trio to a larger ensemble. J’s current gear set up consists of PRS and Fender electric guitars, Taylor acoustic guitars and Mesa Boogie Amps. Venues performed include: The S.F. Fillmore, The Warfield, Crystal Ballroom, Ventura Theatre, Luther Burbank Center and The Great American Music Hall. More bio and info at J’s website. ......................................................"very hard-swinging"-Jazztimes "tasteful and expressive"-Modern Drummer ........................................................I am available for recording sessions, sideman performances and touring opportunities. All styles are welcome. Here are some of the artists I have performed/recorded with: Groundation, Ray Brown, Julian Lage, Noma Unda-featuring Steve Kimmock, Danielle Dubois, The Magflies, Lotus Dog, Carter & Bodlovich, Cohen, Kapakahi, Michael Mannring, Subliminal, Randy Vincent, Tom Finch, Steve Pile, Dustin Smart, Moon Theory & ACME Swing Co. ..................................................................."Having Jason Bodlovich in the studio is like having an entire band at your fingertips. His diverse skills and styles allow him to gel with anything he hears. He’s a world-class guitar player -bossa nova, rock, jazz, soul, samba. He’s a tasteful and skilled drummer who truly understands the meaning of the word ’feel’. Most of all, his balance of prodigious musical talent, professionalism, and an enthusiasm to collaborate makes him the most valuable studio player I know." -Robin Livingston Producer, Engineer & Chief Creative Officer @ Ursa Minor ..................................................................For info on J’s Jazz Groups go to: myspace.com/bodlovichjazz For info on J’s guitar duo collaboration with Isaac Carter go to myspace.com/carterbodlovich Thanks for stopping by & stay classy........................................................................... ......Carter & Bodlovich at The Fillmore opening for Joe Satriani performing "Shock T"... ............J, Julian Lage & Isaac Carter performing "Samba 13" ................J & Tom Finch at The Grove Of Anaheim performing "Q"... ...........J & Ray Brown recording the title track from Blues For Dexter ........JB Quartet w/Julian Lage, Randy Vincent & Taylor Cutcomb in Sonoma performing The Hux.......

Cheers, Jason. Thanks for hitting me up. I hope all is well with you. I like the tunes. I heard some Al DiMeola influence on that first one, though I could be wrong. Take care, bro, and perhaps we'll cross paths again soon.

Hey you sounded fantastic at El Verano the other night - we had to leave before you were done playing - sorry we didn't get a chance to talk. I'm pretty crazy about your guitar playing, and I loved the 2nd song you played - was it called Lumping? Anyway, nice job, look forward to another chance to meet up.
Cheers!

Oh yeah I remember those H.S. Days jammin to Hendrix and learning about arppegios and shit. Good times man. Somtimes I wish I could go back. Ha! Thanks for the comment, things are going great right now, working and auditioning for better gigs. Take care Jay (squid) one of these days we'll have to hang out see what Mr. Keys Sylvia and bill Barnes are up to! Your one of the few musicians I still know from when we were staring out, and I'm inspired to see and hear your music.
