Jimbo Mathus is a link in what I call the crazy Mississippi white-boy chain of music that goes all the way back through Elvis Presley to Jimmie Rogerswhite musicians playing black music and influencing people in both cultures.
-Luther Dickinson, North Mississippi All-Stars
"The sheer joy with which Mathus approaches the music he loves is so infectious that it doesn't just spill over into the rest of his players -- it'll come right outta the stereo and get you, too."
-George Zah, Splendid Magazine

Since then, hes released many recordings of his own in a style he describes as Mississippi Music. His background includes guitar slinging on Grammy winning Buddy Guys Blues Singer and engineering/producing credit for Elvis Costellos Grammy nominated Monkey to Man single.
