J (Jeanette Franz) and Todd (Kreuzburg) began creating music together in the spring of 2005, after being introduced by Jimi Davies (a.k.a. Jimi Haha) of Jimmie’s Chicken Shack. While writing and producing songs for J’s solo project, the pair formed an acoustic duo, (J- Vocals, Todd-guitar) and began building and performing a diverse repertoire which includes 100+ cover and original songs ranging from pop to rock, and blues to soul. The pair’s strong musicianship is the result of many years of combined experience in and around Maryland’s music scene.
In addition to her work with Todd, J has recorded and written music with producers, Jonathan Lasane and the late Skip Scarborough (Anita Baker, Nancy Wilson). She has also collaborated and/or performed with Jimi Haha (Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Jarflys), Noel White (Jarflys, Underfoot), Johnny Poulos (Hybred, Morningside), Jeff Conner (Eat Your Neighbors) and other bands and artists around the Baltimore area. Along with performing and continuing her work in the recording studio, J is currently a vocal coach at the School of Rock in Baltimore, MD.
Todd has been producing records for some of Maryland’s most notable musicians for the past twelve years. Among his production credits are songs and albums by such artists as Eleven54, Doug Segree, Michael K. (Michael K. and the Populists), Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Dave Glaser, Meg Murray, and many others. A virtuoso guitar player, Todd has performed in many bands and live projects such as the Greg Phillips Trio, Mamma Jamma, and the flamenco duo Duende, to name just a few.
