Sounds Like"This CD is BY FAR one of the most incredible releases I have heard in years. Only 2 of you? OK, you both have 6 arms right?"
- IRFT radio

"Subtle and energetic at the same time...One can only gasp in admiration."
- Sing Out! Magazine

"...their music isn't so pedantic as to merely be about virtuosity or arresting prowess. Certainly, they impress, but they don't 'flaunt,' and this is what makes their playing so captivatingly gorgeous"
- Jazzmando

"You were both so incredible!!! Our friends agreed this was, without question, the best Living Traditions show this year!!! We are so happy for you that you can be doing what you love, and we can be the beneficiaries of it!!!" - (Fan)

About Jamie Laval and Ashley Broder

The fateful meeting in 2005 of two widely known Celtic performers produced a frenzy of creative inspiration resulting in a colorful, exciting, and completely unique approach to roots-based progressive acoustic string music.

The partnership began in a jam session in the wee-hours of the morning at the National Old Time Fiddle contest in Weiser, Idaho. Jamie and Ashley connected instantly on both musical and personal levels and have fueled each other’s creativity ever since.

Today, violinist Jamie Laval and mandolinist Ashley Broder form a stunning instrumental duo rendering traditional Irish, Scottish, Bretagne, Cape Breton and Quebecois tunes with hints of classical refinement and ethnic music from around the world. They tour full time throughout the U.S. and Scotland, performing at esteemed venues. Their mix of intense passion and tenderness together with coy, playful interaction has become their trademark.
