A World Unto Itself
You know you’ve encountered truly good music when it conjures a world of its own making, a place to which you can escape, a place in which nothing exists but the music itself. “My music is the one thing in my life that can take me away from everything else,” says Albright and it’s his desire to see his listeners feel the same way. What once was a method of self-healing has become his life and his special way of reaching out to others. “Music began as my therapy but has now become something much more,” says Albright. “Writing and performing music has become who I am and what I want to be.”
Trapping Memories
Music and emotions are closely related indeed and Josh’s music functions on that understanding. Music’s relationship with the feelings of the heart has much to do with its ability to inspire nostalgia and to carry us through time to different places in our lives. “Music can trap memories inside of our heads for a lifetime.” Music has man in its thrall. There’s no doubting that. The songwriter is our priest, of sorts, linking the listener to the power of music through the artist’s talent. Albright is our leader on a journey through our emotional landscape.
The Artist at Work
Josh is currently busy finishing his first album after recently completing his first national tour, which covered 20 different states and went even as far northwest as Winnipeg, Canada. The album is set to release the first of May and will be ready for purchase via i-tunes and potentially right from this site. There is currently a 6 song demo available at live shows. He hopes to see you out at a show soon!
