Not good at saying how bloody marvelous I am so here goes a load of waffle; Once upon a time( in the toilets of the infamous club Shoom ) a chap by the name of Andrew Weatherall comes up to yours truly and says fancy giving me a hand on a remix? I say absolutely!. We do a remix of a Jah Wobble track that has Sinead O Connor on it ,everybody loves it .We then do loads more remixes for New Order, Flowered Up, Future Sound Of London,Psychic Tv and Bjork etc, etc.Every body loves them! Then in the thick haze of a smoked filled room ,it dawns on us that we could make our own music. Genius! Alongside long term collaborator and multi instrumentalist Gary Burns ,we form a group called Sabres Of Paradise .We release a few singles (Theme,Smokebelch).Everybody loves us! Especially Warp Records who give us shit loads of money to make a record called Haunted Dancehall..At the same time Im in another band called The Aloof ,we make a few tunes and then East West Records want to give us lots of money as well (hurrah!) ,we make an album called Sinking everybody loves it but it sells fuck all ! We set ourselves on obliteration mode and duly implode (no body loves us).
Cue forward a few years after wandering around in the wilderness/finding myself and rekindling my love of music......
now the bit my breadheads insist I put in........
Over the past few years, Jagz has built himself a reputation as one of the most important UK producer/remixers. His particular and completely unique take on twisted electronica, saw him crowned XFM's 2003 Remixer of the Year. Jagz (in the past)has produced the Radio 4 album "Enemies Like This" for Astralwerks. The record was recorded in the heart of Brooklyn and mixed back at Jagz's Studio Echoplex. In 2005 Jagz produced The Infadels album We Are Not The Infadels. Jagz has also worked with Primal Scream for many years and produced tracks for the albums XTRMNTR, Evil Heat and Dirty Hits.
2007 certainly established Jagz Kooner as one of the most exciting producers around. His production work for Reverend And The Makers saw the band achieve top ten singles sales and gold album sales for "The State Of Things".He has recently remixed two tracks for Oasis forthcoming album"Dig Out Your Soul"and has also in 2008 added his particular production genius to various tracks on the new Primal Scream album and begun working with the electro pop band Mancini on their debut album. His formidable remix credits include singles by Kasabian( His mix of "Club Foot" got wide daytime radio exposure and was key to it's Top 20 chart placing). He has also remixed singles by The Kills, Freeland, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Massive Attack, Killing Joke, Garbage, The Charlatans ,Royal Trux, Primal Scream, The Bravery ,Ladytron as well as Funeral For A Friend, The Warlocks ,The Engineers and Soulwax and blah,blah,blah...etc,etc......you bored or asleep yet? i am.
