Iosist's first E.P." No god shall judge us " was produced and recorded over November 2006. Thier latest addition to making noise is the 2008 Single "One Step To Far". Both E.P. and Single have been home produced due to lack of funds, but as many of you may agree, The quality of the recordings is a lot better this time around.
It has been a long struggle for the band over the last year, due to line up changes and other aspects, but now the band is back on track and ready to destroy all who is willing to stand in the pit.
The new single was released on the 3rd of June 2008, and it has been a long time coming to the band and to many of the the supporting fans. The plan now is to produce a 10-13 track album to release in late 2009. Yes, this means waiting yet another year, but this is not to say you wont hear most of the album live before it is produced.
The band have surprised themselves with the new material that is being produced in the studio, and it is assured that if you like the single, you'll love the album!

We have finished all recordings for the new single, its been one hell of a mission, but we have finally done it. Its been a long journey with many complications along the road, but dispite all the shit that has cropped up, we feel that we are ready to release 'One Step To Far' on the 3rd of June.
All that is left to do now with the single, is to mix everything down, and make it sound ace.
Work is not over for us yet, as soon as the third of June comes, and everything is released, we will be buckling back down to writting some more new material, whilst still giging as much as we can.
The plan is to write material for a 10-13 track album to be released some time in 2009...
We have been buckling down with recording, and have made significant progress. The current drums are mixed and ready, and if Mike is able to play before the release date, we will change the drums to him playing.
Tomorrow, we are knuckling down with bass and guitar recordings, and they will be completed soon.
As Niall has not recorded before with us, we saw the pressure really get to him when he recorded, taking him 76 takes and drop-ins to get a guide track down.
We also have some drastic news. A few weeks ago we decided to part ways with guitarist Tyrian Serpell. He had been with us for about 7 months, and there has been some uncertainties since the start. During this period, no chemistry had developed between the band, and we were finding it very difficult to work as a whole. He was quite agressive at times, and took a dogmatic approach to what previously was a team.
Many of you saw the bulletins we posted out, stated that we had been hacked. We found out who the culprit was, and it was Tyrian, acting in spite against our judgement to part ways with him.
On the plus side however, we have already sorted out the line-up issue. Ex-guitarist Josh Pearson has joined us again. He previously had left due to having not enough time to keep it up, but this factor has now changed.
Dick here and yes its the first time i've used this "keeping you up to date" thingy so your'll have to bear with me lol.
As you all know were currently recording and writing new songs and everythings is going great with new influnces from niall and stefan currently re-writting his bass lines; to keep anyone whos learning them on there feet.
However after finaly getting mikes drums down, he has gone and changed his snare drum meaning his gonna have to re-record his drums again so that that are new ep doesn't sound odd with a varying snare drum lol.
The good news is that everyone is ready to record, even stefan after having a slight running into an unfriendly lamp post lol.
Just to let you guys know, the single One Step Too Far is postponed for a few weeks after an insane poker night. Stef happily crushed his hand on multiple lampposts after drinking lethal amounts of alcohol and then fighting Mikes brother, who was slightly more sober.
And yes, the lampposts lost
So... although he can play for now, his hands in a splint and he wont be recording until he can take the 'bastarding' thing off.
We decided to post a list of his antics over the night:
-Fell down 7 steps, and then fell over straight after being shoved into a room to make it look subtle
-Repeatedly punched grand piano (innacurate punches aimed torwards his opponent)
-Came 2nd in poker tournament (with about $50,000)
-Somehow managed to not throw up
-Smashed a bottle, and picked up shards of glass with bare hands
-Broke a chair
-Spilled vodka all over poker table twice
-Fractured wrist
-Suffered damaged cartalige, knucles, and surrounding tissue
-Split trousers (big bastard size rip)
-Had inability to stop drinking
-Repeatedly forgot to remove drink cap before pouring/drinking, and remained confused for entirety of evening
-Landed 67 punches, 9 of which hit intended area (mistakes included hitting his own head, leg, and groin)
-Caused opponents inability to urinate
-Suffered extreme amnesia the following morning
Do not try this at home
And dont get drunk with Stef
Hes a nice guy really
Well, recordings for One Step Too Far are well underway. We have chosen to do 3 different drum tracks to choose from once they are finished. One of them will be mixed by Rob, another by Mike, and another one that was recorded at East Surrey College that Andy will be mixing. Further Guitar and Bass recordings are fathomed to take place this or next sunday.
As you can see, we had a photo shoot done at East Surrey on friday, the photo's turned out ace and are up on our pics, with profile pics linked to members profiles along the left hand side of our space.
We are preparing for our March gigs at the moment, and we are working on all learning 'Burnt', the third song off the new album.
We have also been given the date of the 21st March for a gig at the Peel in Kingston, playing alongside '10 Masked Men'. Will be a 17+ show, and is guarenteed to be a good night!
Today's practice went pretty damn sick. With some new syncopations and complex polyrhythmic patterns added to the song 'Burnt', we got a serious hype from todays practice. We've also taken quite a bit of footage for the One Step Too Far Promo Video, hopefully we will release the video around the same time as when we release the single
Also, we are taking End of Creation and No Light off the myspace, as we wont be playing them again now that we have newer, better material. When One Step Too Far is finished, we will be taking ALL tracks off 'No God Shall Judge Us' off the myspace, the recording quality and style completely differ from the new face of Iosist. Who knows, one day we might put consequence, adonai and raging fury back on.
The photo shoot has been delayed till next Friday, which will be 1st February 2008 at East Surrey.
The photo's will be released when the new MySpace design is finishing, courtesy of BaySick Design
We have a photo shoot booked in for next friday, after which we will be able to post some new member pictures etc. With the new shoot comes a new band image, with mike now having dreadlocks and with Neill, our new guitarist.
We are also making a promo video for one step too far. Its mainly for promotion and will have snippits of recording and just us doing what we do best!
We're going to record the single twice, once at our studio, and then again at East Surrey College, and we will choose the best recordings to put through to the single and eventually the album.
We're thinking of naming the album 'Burnt', however if you have any other suggestions feel free to get in touch!
We now have three gigs in the works for March, which we will put up on our gig list as soon as possible, two of which are most likely 18+ shows, which unfortunatly means we cant bring the majority of our trusted fan base, but it does give us a chance to play to some new people and get an unbiased response from our music, which is always healthy.
And just as you thought we couldnt be doing anything else new, we are getting a t-shirt design and a new myspace/website design coming soon(ish)
Until the next time, take care of yourselves and we hope to see you soon
We are so close to recording our single 'One Step Too Far'
This will be our promo CD, expect to catch one when we throw them off stage soon!
All we are waiting for at the moment is for Mike to get his drum overhead mics and then we will get it done and ready ASAP
So yeah, had our first band practice with Niall. Its all starting to come back together now that we are a complete line up again.
We have run through all the old songs that we will continue playing (Consequence, Adonai, Raging Fury), made sure they were fine. On monday we will get One Step Too Far sorted out, and then move onto other songs.
/While on the note of other songs, we are going to change the name of 'Restless/ Grace' very soon.
And we have rearranged Burnt into a near complete song. Its a challenging song to play, as its syncopated 4/4 rhythms over 3/4 and keeps changing time signatures. Somehow though, it still flows as a piece!
Be prepared for a lot of confusing stuff on the new album. Its our post-thrash take on our old stuff combined with our new influences such as DevilDriver, Coal Chamber, Sikth, Dream Theater, Meshuggah, Children of Bodom, etc.
And a new landmark for Iosist in 2008... we have written the longest news update since we made this section!

Happy new year! I hope its a good one for you and us alike.
We have had our first practice of the year, and its been great. With our auditions a mere 4 days away, we had a group focus for the first time in months, which brought back the punch we had lost over time.
We have managed to coop up about 7 or 8 song ideas that are being prepared for the new album, each one progressing slowly.
With a new year comes new prospects, and for us that includes new equipment. Mike's already planning on getting a Pearl curved drum rack, and axis CB-AL bass drum pedals; Tyrian is looking at developing his amplification, and investing in an 8-string guitar...? Dick is looking at rack compressors and a new microphone, and Stefan... well... he's looking for a bass rig larger than the rehearsal space we use...
So... in a week we should have a full line up, and with large-scale gigs on the horizon, we should hopefully be thrashing out at a venue near you soon!
Until next time, all the best, and we will see you soon!
Current main update is on current song ideas and a possible number of tracks for the new album. We actually have more like 8 song ideas for the new album, they all need further workon lyrics and general structure, and we will get back to yiou when we know some more song names.
The second guitarist hunt is underway, after a data loss the tabs for possible guitarists have been recovered and are ready to be sent via email. We will be auditioning around late Jan/early Feb.
Until next time, take care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Hey guys. We hope everyone is ok.
We would just like to keep everyone up to date with whats happening with the new E.P.that is currently being written.
We have two songs officially done, and we are working on another three ideas, hopefully which will be completed within the next few months as well (which will be inevitably delayed due to guitarist auditions etc).
The songs that we have finished are called:
-One Step Too Far
-Restless Grace
We will post up again as soon as we have anything new to Update
