About me:
[circa 2007 press release]in a city full of queers and only one small hole in the wall 'cruise bar' a block from the capitol to celebrate just how queer we are, i.Q. debuted december 2006 at willy street's mickey's tavern. Since it has become the hottest & most talked about dance party on the Isthmus, occurring regularly at the King CLub throughout 2007 looking ahead to 2008 with regular iQ DISCOTECHs every last Friday of the Month @ the MAJESTIC Theatre and the debut of iQ MEOW MIX, every 2nd Thursday: an all girl party @ WOOF's (the new Gay Bar that tookover the space the King Club!! can we say iQ success??).
It's been 10 years since Club de Wash and Hotel Washington burnt down to never be rebuilt, leaving madison queers with the darkest of options "the club?...too far. rays?...too shady(AND CLOSED AS OF APRIL 2007). the sham?...too slutty.(however beloved and cherished as it is our only haven)" then what? where?...it's time for local bars to start reaching out to madison queer folks!
With the unbelievable success of iQ nights, other madison bars and community members are seeing there IS A MARKET FOR QUEER BARS IN MADISON!
