In Cynthia’s Diary’s latest effort, the album entitled Feracity, brings in a new direction of the band’s music. While still carrying the post-hardcore feelings of their previous EPs, Feracity brings in more technicality in the guitar riffs and sings an anthem more along the lines of traditional prog-rock and metal influences. Songs such as "The Ventriloquist" epitomize this fact with the attention-catching introduction lead-work, all the way up to the crashing off-time breakdown carried forward by the drums. Vocally, Feracity is the furthest step out of the box yet, with angst-ridden screams left and right which are subdued by blissfully carried harmonies such as those found during the epilogue of "Blue Notes."
Look out for the band to be playing locally in the Hampton Roads area this year in support of the new album.
