iLoveMikeLitt is a social organization in the ATX that puts together events that promote culture, the arts, and progressive ideas with lots of community participation.
Last year's 1st Ever Veggie Hot Dog Eating Contest was our first event. This year's No Meat, No Mercy: Return of the Veggie Hot Dog Eating Contest marked our 15th event in which we've been involved.
A few other events like Veggie Speed Dating and Vegan Arm Wrestling have also been vegan themed. The vegan themed events aim to bring people of all eating orientations together for fun interactions. Food is an important part of those events. We also try to promote vegan food at our events that are not vegan themed.
Over the last year, our events have involved slideshow artists, fashion designers, lots of bands, do-it-yourself crafters, zinesters, film makers, dancers, grassroots social groups, local and national businesses, and even an electric scooter give-away.
Some events, including Treasure City Thrift Store's Recycled Fashion show and Acknowledge Me, were benefits.
We are always looking for new ideas and energy!
