We are the Idol Junkies, we are sisters. We went to meet and greets, some of us went to after parties, and we all met our Idols. This wasn’t just random luck though, it came from our new bond.
Season five brought a whole new world to us. It was at the point when we could sit outside a venue eleven hours early and never get bored with eachother, not even for a second. The shows were amazing. The bonds that were formed that season, between Junkies AND Idols are ones we will never forget. Like hearing Lisa dedicate a song to Marissa on stage, hearing Lisa tell Marissa’s story to the audience and tell them how Marissa was her hero. That was unbelievable. Or like how every night Mandisa would look out into the audience and find Jackie; then she would shout out the Idol Junkies. She became family to us by the end of the tour. Then there was Elliott, we saw him just a couple months ago actually. How he remembered Caitlin’s last name after all that time we will never understand. Even with Katharine, who wasn’t there for the first seven shows we attended, made an impact on our lives. Hearing the first few beats to Black Horse and the Cherry Tree was like hearing music for the first time. It was so worth the wait. Watching Susan and Jess meet Katharine was awesome. They waited ten shows and finally they had their Katharine moment. And there is one other member of the Idol Junkies we simply can’t leave out: Kellie Pickler! In the words of Kellie, “I’m the captain, it’s my duty!” She welcomed us so much, and she is the captain of the Junkies. Always.
With the start of season six we thought there was nothing that could top the prior summer. We packed our bags and flew down to Florida! Three concerts, three days in a row. Complete madness. In other words, it was the best. Idol brought us closer than we ever have been before.
New England shows were basically season six: part 2. New England was definetely all about the Idols. We never expected what happened in season five to happen again. But it did. Gina wore Jackie’s shirt on stage and told her on the phone, “you’re my American Idol, Jackie, I voted for you every night!” She was always so funny. And when Susan met Haley for the first time, and gave her a scrapbook and letter, she cried. Jordin basically had the same reaction to Marissa and Jess. And the group hugs we shared at the last after party were incredible. And the way Chris was with Caitlin was adorable. Especially after Caitlin broke her ELBOW (only Cait could manage that one!).
So that’s our story; the story of a few girls and the summers of a lifetime! And if you’re still wondering why we’re so obsessed, the answer is quite simple: Idol brought us together. Idol is how we bond and how we relate and how we cheer eachother up. It always puts a smile on our face. And it’s something that we do together. It’s special and it always will be.
Hey I've got a quick question for you guys! In your experience is it easier to meet the Idols at Manchester or the Worcester arena? I remember last time we had a hard time at the Manchester arena but maybe it's changed.....they're not coming to Portland so we're trying to figure out which one to go to!

Hi guys! We just got home from our monthly trip to Cincinnati Childrens. Mack had a great check up and we truly are blessed to tangibly see a miracle before our eyes! It's just so amazing. BUT, I wanted to tell you "thanks" for the picture from Will Makar. So super cute! Mackenzie was thrilled to get mail and it gave her a diversion as they started her IV. I'm in awe of your support for Mack and filled with gratitude for you willingness to help our family. Looking forward to the day we can all finally meet! Until then... many hugs and kisses!
:( I just dont get it,I'm so freakin bummed!!!!! I'm still gonna watch the rest of the season, but I wont be voting anymore. I love Carly, and I'm so gonna miss her!
