Elliot Cohen Simon Mills Duncan Thomas featuring Oxana Poberejnaia
Influences
1. Dr Yavorsky is for Elliot's best fwend... :) 2. Manchester Blues is Oxana's Northern opus 3. Eli had Roy Orbison in mind to sing Stuff Makes Us Confused... only a few decades late... 4. For the Buddhist Chant Eli adapted a Tibetan sample of Chod 5/6. A New Life and Ocean have quotations from writings of the Baha'i Faith 7. For All in Green Si adapted a poem by Roger White 8. Gamelanesque uses a modified glockenspiel scale... (in other words a few keys taken off and the others mixed around... :) ...plus an original 1940s gamelan gong ageng... with about 20kg of solid metal resonating!!!
Sounds Like
Goofs: What is now Magic Bags on YouTube was originally about an irrate sheep before having a lyrical rewrite. If you listen very carefully in A New Life you can hear Duncan's mobile going off with a text from Si saying he'll be late to the recording session... :)
