About me: In spite of my hardships, and the persecutions of my body and mind, I have found the philosophy of living, and that declares that I have learned to be counted no matter what condition I am in. I know how to live humbly, and I know how to enjoy plenty. I have learned the secret in any and all conditions of being well fed, yet growing hungry, of having plenty, yet going without. So, therefore I can do anything through my higher power, the one who gives me strength. I am a survivor of life and I am proud to be a part of H.O.Y.D. It was my dream in 1996 to create H.O.Y.D.a place where people from all walks of life can go to find awareness, inspiration, resources and hope and this dream came alive in May 2008. HELLO MY FRIENDS, GOD HAS PUT ON MY HEART TODAY... A PERSONAL TRIUMPH. SOME YEARS BACK I WAS INJURED IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND BECAME DISABLED. I COULDNT WORK OR DO MANY OF THE THINGS I NORMALLY DID. THIS CUT SHORT ALL THE PLANS I HAD WORKED SO HARD TO ACCOMPLISH. I WORKED AS A DIESEL/CAR MECHNIC FOR YEARS AND BECAME VERY SKILLED AT IT. THIS WAS ME OR SO I THOUGHT. THE DOCTORS TOLD ME” THATS IT,” NO MORE WORKING! NO THIS ISNT A DETERMINATION STORY. EVEN THOUGH I WAS QUITE SURE MYSELF. BUT GOD HAD PLANS OF HIS OWN. ME, I WAS STUCK IN THE PAST AND ONLY SAW WHAT MY GOAL WAS... TO GET BACK WHERE I WAS. NEEDLESS TO SAY I DIDNT GET BACK THERE. ITS BEEN 16 YEARS AND I AM STILL DISABLED. BUT GOD WAS NOT ABOUT TO LET ME FALL INTO A TRAGEDY OF MY OWN DEMISE .
ITS BEEN SAID THAT EACH LIFE IS LIKE A BOOK; LIVED ONE CHAPTER AT A TIME. IF YOU THINK YOUR MOST FRUITFUL YEARS ARE BEHIND YOU, REMEMBER YOU'RE WRITING A NEW CHAPTER NOW. IT TOOK SO LONG FOR ME TO LEARN THIS... TO LIVE EACH DAY WITH CONTENTMENT IN THE PRESENT! THIS SCRIPTURE WILL SHED SOME LIGHT (DEUTERONOMY34;7) MOSES EYES WERE NOT DIM NOR HIS NATURAL VIGOR DIMINISHED. NEAR THE END OF MOSE'S LIFE, GOD SHOWED HIM THE PROMISED LAND. CLEARLY, HE HAD ACCOMPLISHED HIS MISSION IN LIFE. BUT HE DIDN'T LONG FOR THE MIRACLES OF HIS “ GLORY DAYS.” INSTEAD MOSES WAS CONTENT TO OBEY GOD IN THE PRESENT. IN HIS SUNSET YEARS HE MENTORED JOSHUA TO BE HIS SUCCESSOR(DEUT 31;1-8 ). LIVING CONTENTEDLY IN THE PRESENT HAS A WAY OF MAKING US PRODUCTIVE FOR A LIFETIME -FOR GOD'S GLORY.
TO OUR AWESOME GOD I GIVE MY LIFE TO YOU AND I'LL LIVE FOR YOU EVERY DAY. I ASK THAT YOU CONTINUE TO GRANT ME CONTENTMENT AS I STRIVE TO FOLLOW AND OBEY. --LIVING IN YOUR GLORY DAYS PARALYZES THE PRESENT AND CRIPLES YOUR FUTURE. Age is just a number. It doesn't matter what our age is, we are never too old and never too young to make a difference in the world. All of us have our own story to tell and we can learn from each other since we have gone through different experiences in our lives. Although we are at different healing stages in our lives, that doesn't make one story more important than another story. When we share what we have gone through, when we stand together choosing to let our voices be heard, then together we can be a positive change in this world. Every story deserves to be told and every voice deserves to be heard. When we take the time to listen, when we take the time to show we care, when we take the time be there for others and reach out a hand to them, we're able to make the world a brighter place and have a positive influence in other people's lives.
