Influences	Hi-Teck Mark's musical career formally began at the University of North Texas where his music writing, voice, and performance skills were mastered. It was also in Texas where Mark was first introduced to the gay bars and club music in the early 1990's and was hooked on the sounds of Erasure, Madonna, Depeche Mode, and Gloria Estefan. Hi-Teck Danny was also influenced by the clubs and music of the 80's and 90's. Under the name Danny James, he penned a solo dance album entitled Out Of The Dark with a single that was released in 1990's called Skin Party. The club song hit the top 12 on the Billboard Dance Chart. A 2004 remix version appears on their newest demo.

About Hi-Teck

The idea of Hi-Teck was born in 2002 when singer-songwriter Mark Ortega and Danny MacArthur, a composer, producer, and rock singer, met through a mutual friend in Long Beach, CA. The two shared similar musical interests and it seemed to be a natural fit for them to collaborate and form a group. Danny agreed to be co-writer and producer while Mark took on the groups overall concept and management.

Appearing at past gay prides including L.A., San Francisco, Phoenix, Long Beach, and San Diego Prides, members of Hi-Teck have preceded acts such as Ari Gold, Brian Kent, Jennifer Holliday, The Motels, Berlin, and Taylor Dayne.

Hi-Teck is currently writing, rehearsing and lining up cities up for their "Pride Tour" in 2008.
