They rounded things off with Not Quite As Easy which easily topped off my morning as being one of the happiest and most proud I have ever been at 12:33. The faces to exit the tent were painted with huge smiles and merriment...quite right too! As Richie so accurately stated "Now it's a fuckin' Sunday!", it's just a pity they don't all start like that. + Hi 5 Alive were recently in accoustic session on Jim Gellatly's show on XFM and it will be broadcast tonight from 10PM onwards! The grandest compliment a young band can receive, in my opinion, is being granted one of the few sought after slots at any one of Britain's much revered festivals. Having seen the spade work that Hi 5 Alive has heaped into their trade over the past year and a half, it was no surprise they were rewarded their place at this years T in the Park. Realistically, there was no way their hard work; song writing and all round jovial banter, could go unshared. "the atmosphere was buzzing - much like a bee on a potent combination of Pro Plus and Irn Bru 32 - with excitement." Gearing up to play the T-Break stage, it was understandable that a few nerves may have been slightly racked. Mind you, it is worth bearing in mind that they were about to open a stage - one may I add, that is deemed a portal to potentially greater things if played well - at 12 noon on a Sunday. On top of that, the previous two nights had seen such acts as The Verve, The Law, Glasvegas and Rage Against the Machine, so it was fair to assume that many a reveler may have been suffering from Sunday Syndrome. Not when it comes to Hi 5 Alive though. As we made our way into the well packed tent, the atmosphere was buzzing - much like a bee on a potent combination of Pro Plus and Irn Bru 32 - with excitement. Noon struck and the boys certainly did not disappoint. Rattling through their perfectly picked set-list, which included favourites such as Stutter, 12 Messages Received and Jellybean, it was evident to all just how good a time they were having on stage, and rightly so! The gig was made complete for me when, not only did they debut new song The Chase to Balado, they also invited the one and only Ronnie Falconer from The Brogues to join them on stage to play it with them. It was another prime example of how they constantly step up to the challenge of entertaining their ever growing fan base, in a consistently d
