BIO:
The story of Heartbreakers begin in January 2004 at Tampere, Finland by Tuomas Rajamäki. The name of the band came from Elvis song "Heartbreak Hotel". By then Tuomas, the inventor of the name didn't know about Johnny Thunder or that Tom Petty's backing band was called The Heartbreakers. All the same the name and the slogan "Heartbreakers - Breaking Your Heart With The Greatest Evergreens" served the band perfectly. The name Heartbreakers was ment to bring nostalgic but melancholic feelings to the crowd (kuutamoa, kaihoa, ikivihreitä, rakkautta ja rautalankaa.. ;) - it was also about respecting The King and later on also Tom Petty, comments Tuomas and continues "If someone is pissed off about our name they don't get the idea of our band. The name is only a name and this one matched us much better than Kyllikin kaarnalaiva or Apulanta for example. We have also played Tom Petty hit Into The Great Wide Open several times". So there's for those couple of die hard Tom Petty fans who had some complains about the name of the band.
Through the years there have been many different 'breakers in the line-up. They have all left their own unique marks to the Heartbreakers band and brand. Heartbreakers sound and shows have changed, developed and improved all the time. In the Tampere cover music scene the players and the line-ups change all the time but Heartbreakers is still kickin' strong - and will always be as long as the Don lives ;)
Heartbreakers have done about 400 gigs. They have performed for example with the following well-known and appreciated artists: Agents, Jean S, Anna Erikson, Yölintu, Pandora, Popeda, Mikko Alatalo, Heikki Salo, Ville Leinonen, Tuomari Nurmio, Taivalkunta Beat, Finlanders, Club For Five, Aron and Werner Bros.
Bands customers have been companies like Nokia, Sonera, Osuuspankki, If, Kone, Saarioinen, Karisma Music, Ohjelmanaiset, Auraviihde, Ari-set, Suomen tapahtumatuotanto and Tampere Conference. Also many other restaurants, bars, dancing places, clubs, pubs and festivals like Tammerfest, Tammerkosken Sillalla, Ratinan Stadion, Pakkahuone, Lomakeskus Revontuli, Pitkä-Jussi, Galaxy and Peurungan kylpylähotelli have enjoyed the marvellous live show of Heartbreakers!
Tuomas considers current line-up the best and most versatile there has ever been in the Hb camp. Great gigs are being played and sold all the time and band's almost ready debut album will see daylight as soon as possible!! So keep on checking this site for more information and stay tuned!
