I grew up in Scotland, taught myself guitar at 15 and began to experiment with open tunings and unknown chords. I named myself after my favourite book, bought a harmonium and started penning an album about the Island of St Kilda.
Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs play the Buffalo Bar on the 17th of July – this Thursday. This is the first time in over two years that Holly has played the Buffalo and it’s unlikely she’ll play such a small venue again…
Big City Redneck Presents the third installment of our ongoing series (which have been gathering quite ridiculous momentum) of showcases for up and coming swellegant, magnificent and downright stupendous bands on Thursday April 17th (this thursday!!) at the Buffalo Bar in Islington.

Everything's good thanks - working on the music etc... it's change a lot since we played that show (back in the days of yore) - just trying to figure out how to do everything live at the moment. You still playing shows? x
love the track cut your nails have been back 3 times to listen to it in the last 24hours. Hope your well Jane. Saw Emmy play the other night, really special. Will make your next show.
Jane, I thought you might be interested in a new myspace group I started called Gigswap. The group includes a list of independent promoters from around the UK.
I started the group to try to help my favourite Birmingham bands get gigs elsewhere and to try to encourage my favourite bands from elsewhere to get gigs in Birmingham. How anyone uses the group is up to them.
I called it Gigswap beacuse most small independent promoters seem reluctant to book bands from out of town that they don't know, so, perhaps, gigswapping might persuade them otherwise.
