UPDATE: My girl Shakti is about to blow! www.shaktionline.com
Movies
Pale Rider. Most anything with Cary Grant. (dude had one flow--only one accent, and milk it, didn't he?) Magnificient Seven. Steve McQueen... Sweet SweetBack's Badass Song. (Yes it was a terrible flick, but it had heart! there'd be no indie film movie-ment without it. recognize!)
Television
TV's foul mostly. I did commercials so i know how it works inside 'n' out. but i still get high off my own supply. I like Grey's Anatomy. Boston Legal was hot for a minute, then it fell off like Gooden's curve ball in '85. Dig old movies. Luv the History Channel and Discovery Channel, too. (Does that mean I'm getting old?)
Books
Lots. And I write 'em, too... The pen is startin' to flow again. '07 will be a busy one.
KNOCK THE HUSTLE (2005), KNOCK THE HUSTLE ed. (2006), KNOCK THE HUSTLE: VOL: 2 (Winter 2008), C.R.E.A.M. (SPRING 2009)...
But what do I like besides the stuff I write? Well let's see:
BLACK POWER INC. by Cora Daniels, LETTERS TO A BLACK MAN by Hill Harper, LOST SURVIVOR by Thomas Jones, SUCCESS RUNS IN OUR RACE by George Fraser, Shel Silverstein--his stuff's hilarious! Sonia Sanchez, Saul Williams, Used to like David Sedaris' stuff but he's feelin' himself too much these days... hmmm... The Bible (advice and insight up the wazoo!)
I like good stories, recommend somethin', i'll try to read it. Sonia's cool--she's in my Friends list, So's Adisa Banjoko. His books are dope. George Fraser's books are nice, too.

Heroes
No heroes. Not much for idols, neither. Less disappointments that way. (Besides, we all human, ain't we? We all got flaws.) But if i gotta pick a hero, how's Jesus Christ? So there.
About me:
.. powered by ODEO
Mr. BlackCanseco. Still juiced and swingin' on the league.
I'm a reformed--make that a "reforming"--hustler. Spent 15 years in the corporate world building and pushing brands:
I've sold it all from cars to haircare to gum to tech. If you wear it, eat it, use it, chances are i sold it to you. Seriously. I'm the reason your favorite emcee goes "i gotta have that."
So why am i out here? Like most, to meet folks. have fun... And to share a little bit of what i've learned.
Who I'd like to meet: Folks that're open to changing the game. Scratch that. Folks that are so sick of games that they don't wanna play no more. Anyone who wants to get out from under. (yeah, that's who i'm looking for... is that you?)
