Rembrant is my favorite artist. Don't ask me why. He just is. But I also love Beardon, Johnson and Price, wonderful African American painters. Catlett, Moore and Remington are my favorite modern sculptors. I have loved roaming the European museums, especially in Florence, Italy. I adore the peace of a quietly flowing river or a calm lake, and I usually make certain that the settings of my stories include a body of water. At home on a Sunday evening reading with my husband is something I greatly enjoy.
Music
Hardly a day passes when I don't thank God for my ears. Music is important to me, and for most of the day, I'm listening to music--if I'm at home. I love the music of the great classical composers, especially Mozart, but B. B. King, Muddy Waters, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong,Billie Holliday, Lester Young and Luther VanDross definitely fill the bill. And I love to sing. On a choir, my mezzo-cum-contralato translates into tenor.
Movies
My favorite movie is an obscure little film called "The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming." I loved "Casablance" and anything with Denzel Washington.
Television
I spend as little time as possible watching television. It's most useful for the evening news on broadcast channels and for tennis matches. I love to watch tennis on the tennis channel.
Books
Langston Hughes will probably always be my favorite writer. I enjoy writings by Somerset Maugham, Lawrence Durrell, Dorothy West, J. California Cooper and a number of my other contemporary African American authors, but I won't name them, because I don't want any others to feel badly.

Heroes
MY heroes are women and men who stand up for their rights and the rights of others, who are not afraid to fight for what is good and just, and who are willing to make sacrifices for the common good.
About me:
I'm Gwynne Forster, and I'm the published author of almost forty books and novellas of fiction. Before my life as a novelist--and that seems like a century ago--I wrote about the world's demographic problems.
I love to write. Nothing gives me more pleasure and excitement than to create dynamic characters and make them come alive. Sometimes the story becomes a challenge, at which point, I eat a lot of carrots, radishes, celery stalks and, yes--when it gets really tough--snickers. In these cases, true happiness is putting that last period at the end of the epilogue.
I hope that, by now, you've read my latest book, GETTING SOME OF HER OWN, which Kensington Publishing Corp/Dafina Books published this past August to great reviews. If not, please do.
In addition to writing, I love music, especially jazz, blues, classical and opera; art; dancing; and entertaining at small dinners. I love to cook gourmet meals, but I hate the drudgery of day to day cooking. I like people, and people watching is one of my favorite pastimes.
Who I'd like to meet: I enjoy meeting people whose interests are similaar to mine, and I especially enjoy hearing from my readers. I try to answere mail withing a polite interval, but when I have a deadline, I fail. Since I've been writing fiction, I've accumulated many friends among my readers and my fellow authors. I hope you'll become one too.
Thanks so much for your kind words, Gwynne, but I've got a surprise for you. I went to the same site where you got your page and just uploaded one. LOL My only secret is laziness. I did however redesign my own website (deesavoy. com) if you want to take a look.
Hi Gwynne, Thanks a bunch for including Babes on Books in your circle of friends. We wish you the very best and hope that you will drop in from time to time. We would love hearing from you. Best wishes, BOBB
Hi Gwynne, thanks for the add. We've enjoyed all your books and your journey and wanted to put our bid in for any men you know that really are like the Harrington brothers. LOL. Have a wonderful week.
Gwynne finally made it to MySpace, and it was definitely time. I spend most of my waking hours sitting at this computer fabricating stories, creating lives. I'm a novelist with 30 some published titles. I'll tell you about them and me as soon as I make this deadline. Thanks for the welcome. Gwynne
