classical music (sang in an opera chorus), figuring out how to get the elliptical machine to charge rechargable batteries for my son's thousand electronic toys, oh, and cooking. I like cooking. Except when it keeps me from writing.
Music
Jack Johnson, Damien Rice, JayHawks, Ben Folds, Dar Williams, Marina Domashenko singing saint-saens or bizet or strauss, just getting started here. Have to go back and make sure it stops saying I'm single and don't want kids.
About me: I live in New Jersey and can't believe my kids have Jersey accents (I grew up in Boston, with a brief stop in Georgia and only had a fabulous southern accent for about a year when I was 4). I write books, I have a webpage www.gwendolengross.com and I drink too much coffee. But it's decaf. I used to ice climb and do a lot of caving and backpacking, but right now, it's mostly dayhikes and a lot of laundry. But then there's the writing.

Who I'd like to meet: other writers, other readers, and of course people who read my books, because I'm not all that vain, but hopeful. If people love your books, you get to write more books, and that means you don't have to spend as much time doing the laundry.
Oh, and Obies. I went to Oberlin. Even though it's a long commute to Cleveland, there are some extraordinary people there.
Hey lady! How are you? How is the family? We're good. I'm pregnant, again. The kids are good, getting bigger and bigger. I just wanted to wish you a Happy Mother's Day.
Following My Heart, a memoir, chronicles a life-journey of self-discovery that encompasses sex, spirituality, psychedelics, political activism and literature. It is an unconventional story of love and hope in difficult times.
The City, my seventh novel, spans nearly fifty years in the lives of Theo Demetrios, his sister ArtD, their parents, lovers and friends from beat era San Francisco to the twenty-first century. The title also alludes to the ancestral home of the Demetrios family.
Both books, published by Persona Press, are now available in bookstores.
WE NEED YOUR VOTE!!! Help the SaVirtual Theatre’s Zombie House 452 become a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE. Our House 452 myspace ZOMBIE series is currently in a competition at www. massify. com. If we win a major studio will produce our project for the BIG SCREEN. You can help us do something really great with the ZOMBIE genre, but to do this we need your vote. Go to www. massify. com, and register. Massify will SEND YOU A VERIFICATION EMAIL once you’ve registered. People are forgetting to check their email to verify their email address and we’re losing votes. :-( After you’ve registered click on the pitches link. Then do a “pitch search” for “House 452.” When you find it click on the image of the eye. The next page will have blue box on it with a checkmark to vote. Click on the blue box. You should INSTANTLY see the vote count GO UP BY ONE and the blue box disappear. Thanks so much for the help. You can watch the video below for more information about my project and the competition. Monday is the LAST day of voting so we desperately need your help. It would be great if you could get some others to vote too. :-) Thanks so much.
