About me: I suffer from MYALGIC ENCEPHALOMYELITIS and I'm one of the few who know the cause of my M.E., that being Mycotoxins (TOXIC MOLD); and have been diagnosed with MYCOTOXICOSIS (CTM). I believe CFIDS, CFS, FM and PVFS are all ways to describe some of the symptoms of M.E. and not accurate diagnoses. There is a misconception in the medical community, and those who suffer, about the terminology between CFS and M.E. Some think CFS and M.E are the same but CFS (as well as FM, CFIDS and PVFS) is just a symptom of M.E. as I stated previously.
To update information about the terminology of M.E./CFS: Basically, M.E./CFS will stand for Myalgic Enchephalopathy / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (keeping the CFS portion not to confuse insurance companies, etc.). Myalgic Encephalomyelitis will be categorized as separate from M.E./CFS only because Encephalomyelitis refers to inflammation of the spinal cord and brain which would exclude 20% of those who do not have any inflammation.
So we are making progress with this and in my case things won't change as far as a diagnosis. I still have Mycotoxicosis which lead to my Myalgic Encephalomyelitis with M.E./CFS.
