Grindhouse Film Festival's Interests
|
| General | Bringing the ghost of The Deuce to Los Angeles and beyond!

Cutting class to hit the arcade, grabbing a bite at Orange Julius or risking Tad's Steaks, checkin' out the loops and girls at Peepland and Show World, smokin' some dust or a fat spliff, stuffing a forty of Crazy Horse into my jacket, and watchin' some sex, horror and kung fu on that beautiful strip of land between 7th and 8th Avenue... or at least trying to recapture a bit of that in the decaying, smog filled hellhole known as LA.

Grindhouse Film Festival's Blurbs |
About me:
The Grindhouse Film Festival is presented by Eric Caidin and Brian Quinn at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles and features the screening of rare 35mm prints of cult and exploitation films from the 1960s through the 1980s, many of which have not been publicly shown since the drive-ins and inner city grindhouse theaters faded away twenty years ago. For one low price attendees get two rare films, a reel of rare exploitation trailers, a free raffle, and very often appearances by the directors, cast and crew of the films being shown.
In addition to our events in Los Angeles, we also do special screenings in other cities from time to time (Las Vegas & San Francisco so far).
Please subscribe to our blog to be notified of events and updates, as event invites have not been working for us on this profile for many months. Hey MySpace, spend some money on fixing things!
If you live in the Los Angeles area and would like to be added to our mailing list to receive info about our upcoming events, send an email to the following address with the subject SUBSCRIBE.

A Great Article About the Grindhouse Film Festival
Some 2005 Grindhouse reviews, filtered through chemicals and alcohol:
January / February / March / April / May
Thanks to Bob, Sage and Dave at Grindhouse Releasing for all the support. These events wouldn't have lasted as long without their help (and prints & trailer reels).
Thanks to Sid Terror for the great animated "coming attractions" images he's been creating for us recently.
Thanks also to the companies who have supported us.
Please visit their websites and let them know we sent you.

Note to filmmakers: We'd love to have you as a 'friend', just realize that we are not a traditional film festival and we do not take submissions (unless you made your film between 1963 and 1987 and it features hungry zombies, crazed bikers, naked women, etc.).
Also, we love comments but please try to keep them somewhat related to our event and the type of films we screen. Feel free to plug your film or event if it's related to exploitation cinema, but no large advertisements that have nothing to do with our event. Thanks!
