Boston, MA-based Gozu were created in 2007 by vocalist/guitarist Marc Gaffney, guitarist Doug Sherman, and drummer Barry Spillberg, who previewed their hard-to-pin-down amalgam of groove metal and stoner rock with a seven-track EP the following year, and then added bassist Jay Cannava to the fold.
The quartet was then approached by Detroit-based independent Small Stone Records and got to work on its debut album, Locust Season, released in mid-2010. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
