Woman Warrior, The Little Engine that Could, The Hundred Secret Senses, Kitchen God's Wife (anything by Amy Tan), The Shopaholic Trilogy, Jemima Jane, Tuesdays With Morrie -- and just about any book that I can read within one plane trip or in a night at a hotel while traveling. My brother-in-law, James Dalessandro, has written some great books that I love: Bohemian Heart, Citizen Jane and 1906.
About me: I make sauce and making sauce is really my only source of creativity. I once learned how to play "Honey" on the piano -- but it was with one finger and well, didn't sound like a song at all. So, since I didn't have a creative bone in my body - I made sauce. And yes, the sauces follow a very linear approach: they must be supportive of a healthy lifestyle, ethnic, eclectic blends and well.... really good. Oddly enough, the my linear approach resulted in creating some very creative blends!
