What do you get when you cross a fire-spitting tranny boy award-winning slam poet with a fierce singer-songwriter dyke who's got a penchant for solving rubik's cubes?
The Good Asian Drivers Tour!
And it's not called that for nothing! Kit Yan and Melissa Li will prove it to you by driving safely across the country delivering songs, poems, stories and stunts, one state at a time. During the next six months, they will document their travels on video, and catch every stupid joke, every embarrassing moment, and every crazy adventure on tape!
Kit Yan is a transgendered Hawaii boi who has won the world's largest slam, competed in the Individual World Poetry Slam, landed a spot in the Lizard Lounge national slam team, and featured with nationally-recognized poets like Jason Carney, Iyeoka Okoawo, Reggie Gibson, and Michael Brown. All before the age of 21.
Kit fires up the audience by screaming in their faces about his personal experience on identity, gender, politics, and cultural struggles. He has slammed and performed at colleges and schools including Harvard, Wellesley, Babson, UMaine, Colby, Tufts, Olin, and Northeastern.
Melissa Li is a lesbian filmmaker and singer-songwriter who has been performing in the Boston area for over 8 years. Her music is a mixture of folk rock and pop, with a hint of soul and a whole lot of queer, and heavily influenced by Ani DiFranco, Jonatha Brooke, Kris Delmhorst, Deb Talan, Melissa Ferrick, and a slew of other pop/rock/folk divas. Most recently, she has won the coveted Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation award for her first musical "Surviving the Nian", produced by The Theater Offensive in Boston last spring.
Through deeply personal acoustic songs, often punctuated with a vocal style reminiscent of hip hop, Melissa rants about love, loss, and social injustices. She has performed at the Brattle Theater (Cambridge), Somerville Theater, Boston Pride main stage, and colleges and universities around New England.

They're so cute, you'll want to adopt them.

haha, well it had been stuck in my head all week, so I decided to add it. Now the problem is that whenever I go on my profile I have to wait for the whole song to end before I do anything else because Im distracted by it's catchiness, lol. Plus, I have to support another Ani DiFranco fan. ^_^
Hey! How's it going? Hope you are enjoying your Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate the luv and support. Please do visit again when you have a moment for my latest mixes. Enjoy your day and take care. -DJ Nak Vz btw: keep in touch...
