Sounds Like
Traditional folk songs acompanied by (mostly) ambient psychedelic folk rock!
Jon Orpheus created GhostSong in his imagination over a period of time and has now developed an idea into something that may possibly resemble a band. Orph's recent recording career has been with 'Electronic Voice Phenomena' where he has worked with guitarist LS Dean (Sir Dean of Assheton) for the last eight years!
Orph has beckoned an eclectic band of musicians to join his project and has recruited, Mark Seyler of folk band 'Trebuchet' on violins, drummer Chris Mills of heavy metal band 'Conquest Of Steel', Medieval maestro Steve Winstanley (aka Avanti Music), along with Helena Rainbow and Iain 'RedHat' Taylor from Orph's live band 'In The Hills'
Initially, GhostSong's lyrical material will be based on traditional English, Scottish and American songs but beyond the first album (hopefully completed by July) who knows!?!
GhostSong successfully completed their first gig on Saturday 10th May at Grotton In The Hollow, near Oldham - supporting 'Magicfolk'.
