As always, shopping. And the sales lately have been great. Unfortunately. I've just about hit my limit. One big department store should be stopped from using so much paper to send out magazines and flyers for it's practically daily sales. The trees! Anyway, I'm trying to stay out of the mall for a while. Gerry's planning a trip(see blog) and she's amassing a wardrobe as if she'll be gone months instead of ten days. Ridiculous, but fun.
Music
I've been hitting rock pretty hard lately. Because of the rocker in Real Vamps Get Lucky. So Nickelback is in my car and Bon Jovi for some reason. Maybe because Jon is cute. Anyway, then I decided I like Leona Lewis. And Paralyzed by Finger Eleven. Yep, I have eclectic tastes.
Movies
I never get to see movies for some reason. Maybe because I don't want to stand in line and if you wait until they come on TV or Pay for View, you've heard too many reviews of them. I do want to see Hancock because I love Will Smith. Accidentally watched Men In Black the other night. Don't know how I missed it before but loved all those weird creatures. See? There are lots of things you don't know about that could be running around right under your nose. Like moi. We're blending.
Television
I'm really into So You Think You Can Dance right now. Love to watch the dancers and I usually get turned on to some cool new music too. Otherwise not much on. Am seriously bummed that Moonlight was cancelled and now am going to have to subscribe to HBO to get the new vampire series based on Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse vamp books. Then I'll get hooked and they'll probably yank it. At least TNT is coming back with new Closer episodes and I love Monk on USA, but always a short season. And try to catch In Plain Sight on USA on Sunday nights. Great show.
Books
Finished J.R.Ward's latest and as always loved the edginess of it. She's such a great storyteller. Have to plug my buddy Nina Bangs new series. She's gone over to the dark side. Her Eternal Pleasure is not her usual Sparkle and Ganymede funny stuff. She's got alpha heroes and some bad guys that will give you the creeps. Super book. I highly recommend it.
Heroes
We just celebrated the fourth of July and all the patriotic stuff reminded me that so many men and women are sacrificing every day to defend our freedom. So I have to salute those in our military. Also the moms and dads and loved ones who send those soldiers and sailors off to war. White light and prayers of protection to the brave warriors. Too many want what we have here. This land is fantastic and I never take my freedom for granted. Gerry can write what she wants and spend what she wants and the only restrictions she has are the size of her paycheck. Ain't America great? I think so.

Personally I don't think being a vampire is a big yuck, not after over 400 years without a tan. But, hey, I do have a lot of fun, especially with the new technology. You try living without a microwave or a cell phone.
Who I'd like to meet: Fellow book lovers who are into fun, funny and vampires who bite but don't hurt. I'm not into the whole "Woe is me" stuff. I'm not a skinny, minnie either.

No we don't have any hurricanes. I haven't heard of any tsunamis but I live in Oregon City. I think if I moved to the coast I would move to a place high on a hill so I could see the ocean but the tsunamis couldn't get me. I would hope not anyway. I have never been to Texas but my husband would love to go. He is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Our apartment is full of Cowboys stuff. I even bought him a toothbrush with the logo on it for Christmas. I thought it was funny but he loved it. How hot does it get there? Here it gets to about 99 in summer but I stay out in pool with my friend Dawn. She is on your friends list too. She is Dawnee.
