The History of Apple Jam Apple Jam
was founded in 2005 in support of Seattle Public Theater's September 2006 world premiere of (Just Like) Starting Over, a stage play based on John Lennon's final interview.
Since their formation, Apple Jam has created a buzz in Seattle, with their authentic Beatles sound, performing at the Crocodile Café, the Bathhouse on Greenlake, Neumos, and the Triple Door. The band masterfully performs music from the entire solo and collective works of the Beatles. Band members are Rick Lovrovich (founder & bass player), Jon Bolton (drums), Mike Mattingly (guitar), Johnny Jones (keyboards) and Doug Kilishek (guitar) – of the
The Beatniks, Herding Cats, and Ecstasy in Numbers.
Apple Jam has been graced with numerous special guest performances by
Alan White
, legendary drummer for Yes, and for John Lennon's Imagine & George Harrison's All Thing Must Pass landmark albums.
Apple Jam's "Off the Beatle Track" CD of unreleased Beatles songs
"Off the Beatle Track" showcases early Lennon/McCartney compositions released by others, but never by Beatles while they were together. Instead, the songs were given to British contemporaries like Billy J. Kramer, Cilla Black, and Peter & Gordon. These artists in turn produced a sizable body of hits including "Bad to Me", "A World Without Love", and "I'll Be on My Way" -- proving the quality and timeless nature of the Beatles songwriting and music. Interestingly, the Beatles first considered titling their debut album "Off the Beatle Track", but later decided on "Please Please Me". Select songs from "Off the Beatle Track" were performed live at Apple Jam's "Beatles and solo years tribute" concert at the Triple Door in Seattle on January 11th, 2008.
Apple Jam is embodying each track with an authentic Beatles sound, as if the Liverpool lads had released these songs themselves circa 1963. "We are using the same microphones, gear, and studio techniques of the period to make the album sound just like an early Beatles record," says Rick Lovrovich, Apple Jam's founding member. Apple Jam's 2007 version of "I'll Keep You Satisfied" was originally released in 1963 by Billy J. Kramer and reached number 4 on the UK charts while the Beatles' "She Loves You" enjoyed the number 1 position. John Lennon was present at the recording. "Off the Beatle Track" is slated for release in Spring 2008.
I Love your page and tribute to the Greatest Beatle, GEORGE!
I have met and seen all the Beatles and worked on over 4 of Handmade Film productions and met George twice, but I was so shy with him and spoke to him briefly and with Olivia a little longer
I Wish I would have had a photo with George rather than Paul, so here is the photo of me with Linda and Paul.
Hey guys!! Thank You so much for adding me. I've been a Beatles fan since i was 8 and i know its not nearley as long as thousands of other fans, i love them equaly. All we can do is keep Georges dream alive and open him into others hearts. Thank You!!
Today at the 29th Nov 2007 is the 6th anniversary of George Harrison's passing. I have written my tribute song "Bye Bye George Harrison" on 11-29-2007. I have met many dear friends by this song they also George Harrisons admire. Two of this are. Diane of the Hari Rama radio http://www.myspace.com/hariramaradio

Hi there! Thank you very much for the add! You are such amazing performers of George Harrison's songs. It sounds as if Harrison himself were singing! And also the rest of the music is pretty close to the original songs. Thanks for keep playing his music in such a great way!
Peace & Love.
Hey!!! THANK YOU FOR THE ADD!!!
We love The Beatles, and particularly George. Wow, you must be the one and only George man!! That´s a good job! Keep on that way and hope to hear more.
Regards from LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the add! I am simply flabbergasted at the incredible musicianship of this tribute group. "Taxman" is so good I almost feel inspired to partake in something similar to John and George's "dental experience" .....again... Is there any chance of getting a cd of the show? I'd love to hear "Long, Long, Long"? How about "Who can see it"?
best covers ive ever heard and its nice to have somebody just cover harrison songs it shows what a good songwriter he actually was if you guys got a cd or something id like to buy it
Good afternoon gentlemen, what's going on? Thanks for the add, I'm really impressed with your sound.... George would be blown away at rendition you did on "My Sweet Lord", it's truely a masterpiece. You guys need to come to Kansas City, Missouri. There are alot of smiles awaiting your magic. Take care and many smiles to all of you, ~Nick~ :)
