About me:
Gallery 146 is the on-site gallery of Hospitality House's Community Arts Program (CAP). The CAP is San Francisco's only free-of-charge fine arts studio and gallery space providing materials, instruction, and sales/exhibition support to Tenderloin artists and community residents.
Founded in 1969, the CAP provides a rare creative outlet to Tenderloin artists and community residents. Participants bring a range of experience - from those with fine arts degrees, to those with a simple interest in the creation of art. All artists share the experiences of life in the Tenderloin, one of San Francisco's most economically-deprived neighborhoods.
This diversity of perspective allows for a unique cultural exchange that makes Gallery 146 a well-known epi-center for the creation of 'outsider' art.

Who I'd like to meet:
We welcome those interested to visit our on-site gallery and studio space. Exhibitions and events will be posted, but you are welcome to visit for yourself during the studio's regular drop-in hours:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 1pm - 6pm Tuesday and Thursday: 10am - 3pm
The studio also offers weekly creative writing, visual arts, and youth art workshops. Additional workshops may also be taking place. Please call 415-749-2133 or visit www.hospitalityhouse.org/community.htm for more details.
