Three voices, three songwriters, and harmonies that'll knock your socks off.
Jennifer Noxon, Chris MacLean and Alise Marlane offer up a scrumptious collection of songs you can really sink your teeth into - contemporary acoustic folk served up with flavourings of traditional, jazz, cabaret, blues and bluegrass delivered in a tasty instrumental mix. These three accomplished singer-songwriters have been orbiting each other musically for years. When their voices came together on stage for the first time a few years ago it was clearly a beautiful blend. They've since been painting their way across the wide canvas of their musical influences with beautifully crafted arrangements that include guitar, harmonium, mandolin, dulcimer, harmonica and percussion.
"...a rare find...powerful songwriting...intriguing musical arrangements."
Chris White, Artistic Director, CKCU-Ottawa Folk Festival
"...The three part harmony, the stage presence, the songs, and the musicianship are world class." Dean Verger - Rasputin's Folk Club
"The music is like chocolate cake with whip cream and goes down real smooth." Missy Burgess, singer/songwriter.
Frida's Brow's self-titled début album will take you on a rich multi-instrumental journey through twelve soulful tales, both original and borrowed, that capture the depth and magic of human experience.
