...well it depends upon the day. everything...especially silence...and you.

Mokshapriya for her love & teaching, Swami Muktananda for our synchronistic meeting in Rishikesh; Rodney Yee for his early great teaching & inspiration... and Geoff Jukes for his inspiring poise & friendship.
...and once again - silence is my greatest teacher.
Leaving behind the fragrance & colours...
we can see the beauty in everything?
Some unmixed pre-production ideas & pre-release tracks
- this world - inspired by rumi
- my feather crystal - short edited version, inspired by my window
- devi state - a track inspired while watching Akram Khan play guitar in my living room & recalling my days in 2005/6 video documenting his choreography, the story & behind the scenes of "Ma".
- submersible mind - inspired by meditation.
- angular movements - inspired by the dance of Johanna Devi
The above pieces originated from my music composed for a contemporary choreography mixing Bharata Natyam & Contemporary Dance held at Staatliche Museen Berlin (Museum of Culture) 2006/7 combining electronic and acoustic live performance.
LOST PLANET
Project Members: Various Creatures
"Lost Planet is a project I find really intriguing simply because it's more about an exploration of feel and sound than a pretense of needing a verse, chorus or even a reprise. It's inspired by movement & light... and it's about flow and transformation.
I like hearing the different responses of how this work hits people - some say they don't get it... or they love it :). In composing this work much was all improvised with one take parts via keys & guitars... I would mash record and just play... with a story, feeling or landscape in mind. I really like the idea of allowing the music to travel and let the ending arrive naturally in this domino effect style of composing... I have no plan with a something specific, ending in mind, creating sections or choosing a length of time..
Frequencies seem to call and communicate to us in interesting ways... something I also learned about studying Nada & Swara Yoga. To me all sound is some form of music... and this as we all know doesn't neccesarily have to be played by a typical musical instrument... if I can trigger it, bang it, squeeze it or whatever :) it doesn't matter...
For my spirit Lost Planet is an aural alchemy that inspires my mind toward imagination & inquiry... I also tend to think I'm on the wrong planet sometimes... thus... Lost Planet."

'As space defines beauty, silence defines sound.
...and with the experience of either, the other always manifests.... a lot may also depend on what's lubricating your perspective too. "
johannadevi ruff vid clip
I've been photographing/filming such images which are slowing evolving into an installation exhibit combining sound, images & social interaction.
The images sliding by are from a collection of fotos & dance video stills captured by Free mostly around Berlin. Some of his video work captures dancers Felix Ruckert, Akram Khan, Johanna Devi, Birju Maharaj & others. The ruff shakey handy cam vid is of a Johanna Devi choreography with music by me...
There's nothing genius about my shooting, but when I'm attracted to special movement & light.... The moments are generally very engaging and they spawn new ideas in my bizarre mind... it happens while capturing and after... I also like to use movement in my shooting process in order to capture special angles.
The images here at myspace will change from time to time when I find time.... time is the essence!
Thanks for stopping by & taking interest.
Since u found this page amongst a sea of other wonderful creatures out there.
...send a hello or add me as your friend.
It may take time, tho I promise to get back to all
who write asap.
