Jeff "Granpa Freaky" is an old hippie dippie who lived the sixties, playing Scott's bluesy rock.
Scott "Papa Fuzz" is a NYC born and raised rocker playing Jeff's hippie dippie music.
In other words, who knows?
Bringing together two “old Pros”, Freak’n’Fuzz gives you the widest variety of cover and original rock, blues, country, reggae, (and whatever else strikes their fancy) going. Jeff is a lifelong entertainer who has recorded and sold his music internationally. Scott has been a musician since the age of 5, releasing cd’s with “The Blues Hounds” and “The Whitey Bleu Band”.
Jeff Archer
Jeff has been in show business since he was 6 years old. His first gig was as a double for Charlie Herbert in the Paramount Picture “Houseboat” starring Sophia Loren and Cary Grant(1958).
Jeff caught the band bug in the mid 60’s and played in local DC-Metro bands that included: The Kaisers, Bittersweet, Inside Strait, The Belairs, Osiris, and Our Pleasure. As a teenager he backed up such classic groups as The Coasters, The Drifters, The Clovers, BJ Thomas, and he was even a Shondell for the night, all at the old Stardust Inn (Waldorf, MD).
Jeff has been recording and gigging in his new hometown of Annapolis, MD. after retiring from full time music in 1994.
Over the last few years Jeff has returned to his father’s crooning roots (Gene Archer, WRC-NBC) and plays for area eldercares as a labor of love.
In 2003 he recorded a charity LP , “Angels Without Wings” , for Linda Greenbergs Giving Back, to help area homeless. 100% of the CD sales went back to the charity.
Some of Jeff’s other recording credits include Lonnie Mack (South), Osiris, and many prominent DC area artists, including Ron Holloway.
Jeff recently went international, finishing up one of his latest CD’s in a UK recording studio. He’s looking forward to returning there in the near future for a few gigs.
Jeff enjoys sales of his music worldwide, and is always busy with new projects. He currently has a children’s book in the works, and is putting together a cd of songs featuring his daughter Amy on vocals, an extremely talented musician in her own right.
He presently performs and records with: The Jeff Archer Group (JAG), The Our Pleasure Band, The Bad Weather Boyz, and Freak’N’Fuzz.
Scott Powers
Scott has been a lifelong musician, learning the basics while performing in school bands from the age of 5 throughout high school. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, he was bitten by the rock and roll bug at an early age, picking up his first guitar at age 13.
Throughout the early and mid 1980’s, he played the New York club scene with a variety of hard rock bands, most notably as lead guitarist and lead singer of the cover and original band “Pierced Spirit” , a fixture on the hopping local music scene of the time.
By 1986 he “discovered” the blues, with a special affinity towards Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Eric Clapton, and Gary Moore. Scott spent the next several years playing in a variety of blues/rock outfits.
After stints as a bassist with the bands “Dead to Rights” and “Deceiver”, Scott got back together with a group of friends and former bandmates to form The Blues Hounds in 1992. After several successful years on the New York bar scene, the band went on hiatus, performing occasionally at special events and parties.
Scott relocated to Annapolis, Maryland in 1999. After a few years settling in, he decided it was time to get back into live performance. The Blues Hounds began performing again in 2003, playing gigs throughout the mid Atlantic region. They recorded their first collection of original material in 2005/2006, releasing “Take Me Home” in late 2006.
Scott contributed several songs to the project, including the acoustic “All Used Up”, which has received steady airplay in Europe. Scott continues to perform with The Blues Hounds, and plans for a follow up CD are in the works.
His solo project, “The Whitey Bleu Band” features his original songs, written over the course of 20 or so years, and performed with the help of his friends, both old and new.
In April 2007, he recorded the original “Steps of the Throne”, with the proceeds to benefit a local law enforcement charity. Scott reached out to Jeff Archer for keyboard work, and a great new friendship and musical adventure was born.
In addition to their original material, Freak’n’Fuzz cover artists including: The Beatles, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Hank Williams, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, and a host of other traditional blues, rock, and eclectic artists.

That's so cool your friends with SOJA, Kelly and I saw them here in Fredericksburg a while back, they are amazing! Let me know the next time your playing out.
Hey, Fuzz ~ thanks for the invite ~ you guys are awesome, I love your CD! Looking forward to meeting you sometime also & seeing you play live! ~ Valerie
Hey Jeff and Scott, good to catch up with here. Man, I would love it if you could come out to any of the open mics I'm running. It's a good mix of beginers and pros. There are a couple other note worthy open mics in the area, so let me give you the low down; Monday, Hurricane Kevin's OPen Mic and Jam at Stan and Joe's (All mine are all genre's welcome, three song limit per set, but we may degenerate into a jam at the end of the night. Jimmy Haha has an open mic at the Acme. He is a very cool cat and he draws a lot of professionals to his night. Tues.Dave Teif, the front man from Laughing colors, is hosting at the Whiskey. There they have a stage, lights a very nice sound systym and best of all a real and talented sound man. They just started last week and I'm going again this Tues. Wed. I host at Griffin's grill in Arnold, used to be Texas Steak. Saturday i'm at Big Bats on Kent Island and Sunday back at Stan and Joe's hosting a Blues Jam with Ken Krawn, and a whole band. That's a lot of fun and for me, a real learning experience as everybody there plays guitar better than me. (But none can touch me at tap dancing while playing the jew's harp.) Glad to see you guys are doing well and hope you can join us some night some. Peace
Hey Freak'n'Fuzz: Thanks for the friend request. Sweet tracks, and Love where you live.
