You may be asking yourself, "Where has Foreign Exchange been hiding all
these years?'. The answer is simple. Right here. 4X (short for Foreign
Exchange) calls no place on this planet his home, but has formed close
bonds with many people on this planet and has decided to take up
temporary residency. No one has ever seen 4X face to face, but who cares
about faces anyway? 4X is the star of your favorite childhood TV show,
he is the adolescent in a third world nation that sewed your designer
jeans together, the real designer. He's the boss of the supermarket and
the frequent shoplifter, the guy that knows a million trivial facts
about fighter jets and the kid who broke your sand castle and kicked
sand in your teeth. He is the sand in your teeth and the toilet paper
stuck to your shoe. He's the double parked car in both of your favorite
stalls and the note in your lunch pale, love Mom. 4X is America in the
1950's, peanut butter and jelly out of the same jar. 4X has more soul
than South Korea and fifty reasons why you shouldn't yell. 4X is you,
me, them, all of them. He is now, then, and never shows up when you most
expect it. 4X is in transit and you know you can't stand it.
