| General | David Harris is a Major in the US Army Reserves. He's served since 1994 and has had a distinguished career. He currently serves as a Stategic Planner for US Forces Korea Support out of Fort Shafter. His civilian occupation is Assistant Professor of Military Science/Training Officer at UT-Arlington. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Government and is currently working on his Masters in Logistics.
Major Harris has been stationed at Fort Benning, Fort Hood, Fort Leavenworth and Fort Shafter. His commendations include the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, 2 Overseas Service Ribbons, The Global War on Terror Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, 2 National Defense Service Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, 6 Army Achievement Medals, and a Bronze Star.

Who I'd like to meet:
People who live in the 6th congressional district of Texas, potential supporters and allies, online supporters and political bloggers. We welcome Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, and everything in between as Friends. We believe David Harris has a common sense campaign platform that should appeal to people of any political stripe. David is an Iraq War Veteran, and we believe that the best way to support our troops is to elect people to Congress who've had combat experience. The number one issue facing our country right now is how to achieve victory and extricate our troops from Iraq, and we believe veterans like David Harris who've served in theater have a much better perspective on how to win the war than the chickenhawks in Congress. If you want to see our troops come home safely and as soon as possible, then please join us in supporting David Harris for Congress.
BULLETIN/SPAM POLICY:
If you get a Friend invitation or request from us, it is because you reside in the 6th congressional district. We would like to emphasise that we WILL NOT SPAM YOU if you accept the invitation. Seriously. We HATE SPAM. Instead of using the MySpace Bulletin feature (which annoys us already), we will update you via the Blog on this profile. We have decided that we will send a maximum of two bulletins per fiscal quarter (one quarter = four months). Fundraising bulletins will be sent one week before the quarter ends as well as the final day of the quarter.
The only other notices we will send via bulletins are voting notices. We will send bulletins when early voting begins as well as the day of early voting. We will also send bulletins one week before the regular vote takes place, then we'll send a reminder the day the polls are open. We believe that these standards will prevent any spam from being sent via this profile, and we also believe that those two events are important enough to be sent as bulletins.
