Fly By Night is a Winnipeg Funk/Rock/Jazz band that hails from Steinbach. Formed in May of 2005, five friends decided that there was too much suck going on at the high-school talent show, and that some real music was needed. They were so well received, that they landed a weekly gig at a local bar the following summer. Following that stint, they were featured at the Hillfest 2005 music festival, along with several prominent Winnipeg musical acts. After that gig, the members went their seperate ways as they moved off to go to school. The following summer, they were reunited when they became in-demand for several weddings, and events. Matt Schellenberg, and later, Bucky Driedger (who were alumni of the same high-school) were added to the mix to give the band more of a rounded-out funk rock sound. After getting great responses from several more gigs, they decided to record a demo-track and are now breaking out on the Winnipeg music scene. Hi there Fly By Night first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
