Influences
When we play our tunes they tend to come out quite Thrash Metal , but all of our members come from different musical backgrounds.
Our influences are varied from Punk like the Misfits, to rock bands like Muse.
Our main influences include Metallica, Sepultura, Iron Maiden, In Flames, Queens Of The Stone Age, Velvet Revolver and Rush.

Forming in Early 2006, Firing Blanks are a new discovery for most Edinburgh gig-goers. Fusing Modern Breakdowns, Master Of Puppets-era Choruses and some of the most Epic and Unashamed solos since Maiden -All set to a rhythm sound that would make a Evil Empire era RATM proud. Since their first gig already Firing Blanks have made people sit up and listen whether they want to or not. From the first time 'Fuck Like a Beast' was debuted, to the 3rd wall of death at Studio 24 to the Dramatic ban from the battlefield battle of the bands. Songs like 3210 and Mass Genocide have been a big success for the band and other classics including Fuck Like A Beast and Forgotten have been well received.
Expect a demo soon from Jamie Martin, Jamie Clapton, Eric Sutherland, Alan Bell and whoever happens to be our bassist at the time!
