Welcome to Finance For Youth: MySpace! This is where your voice matters on any and all subjects. Young people have so few places where adults will listen and try to help them succeed. I want this to be one of these places.
This is where I will put any information about cool "stuff" for young people that will help them in many aspects of life. Things like Free or cheap software products, discounts to doing things we all like to do, or fun ways to save or earn more money. If you have any ideas for products, or if you are looking for a specific product, this is the place to ask for it. If I don't know about it, I will try to find it.
If you want financial advice from a professional who still remembers the unique circumstances of being young, with all the problems and issues, you will want to check out my original content blog
So where does that leave MySpace? Right where it has always really belonged. This is your forum. I'm going to try to post regular questions, polls, or other conversation starters. This is where I really hope you respond, answer, reply, or even ask your own questions. Some of them will become future topics on one of the other Finance For Youth channels.
Since this is supposed to be about me, let's see. I've worked with young people and personal finance for over 13 years in some form or another, my wife has done the same for almost 10 years on her own, and has been a great help for me in the process of creating F4Y. We live in So Cal, (can I start a "thing" here? Can we start calling it "Lo-Cal"? Probably not, but let's try anyways)close to our families, which have been great inspirations to us. Both in what they have done well, and what they could have done better at.
Who I'd like to meet: Young people with a thirst for knowledge.
Older people with a thirst for helping young people.
Anybody who wants to become financially literate (and liberated).
Anybody who does not want to be like "everybody else" when it comes to personal finance.
Screw it! I want to meet everybody!
contest details. Donations are welcomed and appreciated. We also ask for everyone to please send out an email blast to your friends and family telling them about our contest. We simply have to do better when it comes to educating our kids and preparing them for the future. We also are in need for sponsors. This is going to be fun and exciting!
