Hi there...........We’re a band called FemBots. Despite your first impression we are actually two guys. We just didn’t think of the consequences when we named ourselves. We live in Toronto, Canada. We make music at home, then we drive around the continent playing it to other people. Then we drive home. We’ve been doing this since about 1998. It still doesn’t make sense but we do it anyway.
Don’t ask us what kind of music we play, we hate that question and have no idea what to say when asked. We play piano, guitar, bass, keyboards and a bunch of other things. We get bored easily. We always want to make whatever we're working on sound completely different from what we did last. No matter how hard we try we still sound like us.
On stage we are sometimes joined by an old reel to reel tape recorder. It plays tape loops. We play along. Sometimes we bring other people on stage with us. We’ve never really had a permanent lineup so the band might be different every time you see us.
When we’re not driving around the continent we run a postage stamp sized recording studio called the Junkshop.
Things we enjoy -
-old photos of places we know.
-nonfiction (you get to say “I can’t believe that happened!” but it really did happen!)
-listening to old men at the deli. There aren’t any delis in Toronto so we have to go to Montreal or New York to enjoy this.
-Montreal & New York
-good movies
-hotels
-sometimes motels
-obituaries - I don’t know why but it’s usually the most interesting part of the paper

If you're going to go to Winnipeg, you may as well come back to Calgary. Loved playing with you guys at the Liberty Lounge a couple years back, and Small Town Murder Scene is an album I take every opportunity to rave about. Including using it on my page.
Take care guys, and am hoping to see you are your instruments back where the oil tycoons roam like cows.
