What we need is a girl band that can play instruments and sing in tune and look good.
You are really good, I don't think you realise how great you are."- Louis Walsh, School Stars Finals 2012

"I presented the Phil Lynott Emerging Talent Award at the Rock Awards to a group called The Corrs and I wish I had an award tonight for these five young ladies. They are absolutely fabulous."

- Philomena Lynott

Formed in 2011, five passionate musicians; Niamh Sharkey, Dara Farrelly, Eleanor Rogers, Sarah McLaughlin and Jenny McKeown, came together to form what can only be described as the future of Irish Indie / Rock music.

Hailing from Drogheda, Co. Louth and new to the live music scene, Featuring X have already "wowed" those who have been lucky enough to catch this incredible live act who deliver an energetic performance from the onset and throughout.

Originally beginning their career as a Thin Lizzy tribute act, it didn't take long before the girls began building a loyal following thus inundated with requests to play local festivals and venues within Drogheda.

Upon their performance at 'Beat On The Boyne Festival 2012' a film crew had approached Featuring X to include them in a documentary-style show called 'Our Place', as part of the Thin Lizzy Experience. It was here they progressed to film in different locations including Philomena Lynnots house.

The documentary, which was aired on Showcase TV on Thursday September 20th, displayed their well-crafted musicianship, their passion for music and the many capabilities.

The girls were then invited to play their debut Dublin show in Sweeney's, Dame St. as a part of the popular Chew Your Own Fat 'Children of the Fat event' which sparked huge interest from Dublin's live music scene with a vastly thriving fan-base.

Making a swift return for Sweeney's popular night; Dimestore Recordings, where they certainly left a long-lasting impression after the crowd demanded an encore of their original track 'One Too Many Times'. And so began the incoming requests to play a number of venues ahead of their debut EP release.

In March 2013, ready to introduce themselves to the Irish music scene, the girls headed for the studio where they spent a week rehearsing, tweaking new tracks and recording their debut three-track E.P.

Already invited to play a number of counties for a number of live shows, reaching the finals of School Stars 2012, playing with well-known acts such as Pat Mc Manus, The Furey Brothers, Crow Black Chicken to name but a few, the girls are currently preparing for the release of their debut and the coinciding full Irish tour.

If ever you have been told to watch this space - this is the time to take that literally.

It won't be long before you see the name 'Featuring X' across all line-ups and playing all major venues / festivals across the country.
