About me:
We at Faceless International want to empower YOU to be the change you want to see in the world….We believe that it starts with us. We are the ones who will make the biggest impact in our generation and the world.
This is why we are offering you the opportunity to get involved. You don’t have to go overseas to make a difference. It begins with compassion and awareness of the world around you. You can visit sites like www.dosomething.org to find ways to get involved in your community.
What are you interested in or passionate about that you can share with the world around you?
We would love to hear from you! Please check out a new section of our website called “Your Stories.” This section is highlighting ways that you are making a difference in your world. Send us your thoughts, insights, motivations, stories, and pictures and let us share in what you are doing to bring about change in your community and world. E-mail Sarah at: sarah@facelessinternational.com
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who wants to join us in making a lasting change in the world!
I just want to say that I love the work that you are doing, and would love to be a part of it. I just came back from South Africa volunteering with lions and fundraising for a township school, it was an amazing experience, to see a difference in someone else's life.
Thank You for helping people be the change.
Take care. And hope to see you on a trip with you sometime.
Hi Faceless, how's it going? I just read the write up on the Guatemala Trip by Chris Abel. That was a great recount of the trip you guys took and a reflection on the tenacity and hope of the human spirit. I like the way it ended with that Ralph Waldo Emerson quote "“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no person can sincerely try to help another without helping themselves. ”"
Sarah, The cornerstone press conference was very heartbreaking. You and Stephen spoke very eloquently. I look forward to becoming involved. Stephen is right, human trafficking does trump other atrocities...I am on board!
I just read that Saturday, May 10th is World Fair Trade Day, and international day of celebration for all things Fair Trade, organized by Fair Trade Resource Network (www. fairtraderesource. org).
Hey Faceless! I really wish I could've gone on the trip with you this summer, but I am going to Cornerstone so if you need someone to help with anything just let me know. xo alexa
you dont still have guatemala openings, do you? i know the deadline was 1.31... but looks like i actually can make it now... =) its cool if not, there is always next year!
=] i want to say i think what your doing is great. it makes me happy that there are a lot of people out there trying to make a difference. like your self! =] haha
i really want to join and want to go to that place [i think it was to Guatemala] over this summer. i read about it on your anchor & braille site i think. but my parents wont let me go outside the u.s. or anywhere too far from nj, frowny face. & im not sure what the age limit is either soo..
i guess the only way to meet you is on your anberlin tours. ill deff. go to your next one whenever that may be.
May the sun bring you new energies by day, May the moon softly restore you by night, May the rain-wash away any worries you may have. May gentle breezes refresh your soul... and, all the days of your life, May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty. May the angels keep watch over you always... Thank you for adding me to your page! Much love-
Yes! She did email me just a couple days ago and replied right away.
And could your pray for Emily. She's just going through some things right now. She doesn't have a Myspace anymore, but I've been keeping in touch with her through email, and letters.
And thank YOU for reading and responding to my writings! I appreciate it a lot.
Happiness for the ones who cry and weep. Rest for those with endless nights lacking sleep. Truth for you who suffer and are lost. Grace for those who feel they must pay the cost. Shelter for the ones without a home. A friend for those who stand alone. There is something very real. Something I cannot hide! Something that will make you burst with happiness inside! It is love from the Father in Heaven on high. Love that will last forever Love that will not die.
I need a name for this one and also the other poem I sent you guys. If you have any ideas, let me know.
Emily and I have constructed a marvelous plan! We're going to make flyers to hand out to people encouraging them to get involved in their communities, and things going on in the world. We'd be sure to list the Faceless official site on it so that people can go online to learn more. Another idea was to carry signs around that say YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD or YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE and such. Or even just standing on a street corner with one. All of this came to me at about 4 am this morning. What do you think?
The Free Hugs Campaign is an Internet-spread phenomenon that appears to have begun in June, 2004,[1] and was widely publicized in 2006 by a music video on YouTube. The phenomenon involves individuals who offer hugs to strangers in public settings. The campaign is an example of a random act of kindness, a selfless act performed by a person for the sole reason of making others feel better. The original organizer has stated in interviews that the purpose is not to get names, phone numbers, or dates.[1] September 10th, 2007 will be remembered as the biggest Free Hug day this world has ever seen. Everybody get ready, this one is going to be HUGE. Invite everyone you can!!!!! Thank you!!!!
Location: Everywhere Start time: September 10, 12:00am End time: September 11, 12:00am
The Reason for the date,
September 10th is the day before 9/11. We will all sit down on that day and think about the tragedies that have befallen this world, we will think of the twin towers, of the iraq war, of the terrorist attacks all over the world. We will think to ourselves…what has this world come to? where has the good gone. That is why this event has been created, so when you do ask yourself that, you think about all the hugs you had recieved the day before and you think to yourself that there is love left.
People need to be reminded that this world has a great amount of good left in it, and that it should never be forgotten.
To answer your fist question... Sadly enough, in order to view the Faceless page on Facebook you have to be a member on Facebook. It's not like Myspace where you can just type in the URL and browse the page. =[ I actually JUST found that out. I'm not too familiar with Facebook yet. I'm still learning how everything works.
To answer your second question... Facebook has a bunch of stuff that you can put on your profile, different groups you can join, so I guess that you could call the Causes application to be a sort of group maker...thing. Anyone can make a Cause. You'll find a lot of organizations like TWLOHA or The International Justice Mission in there, if you search for them. To spread the word on Facebook, you can send invites to people and get others to invite too. I think that you are limited and can only invite 10 people a day though, which I actually think is stupid. That's the best that I can describe it. Hope it made sense and everything.
And also, I've got another poem I'm working on. If it's any good, I'll send it your way. =]
